Hunty nightmare.
Casey defenders (or mids) salivating.

Hunt has to be dropped. Has zero confidence

Umpires are a joke

Viney and Gawn absolute liabilities

Haven’t seen us look so exhausted in years

What are you doing drilling the ball into the centre from the back pocket ffs ANB, leads to a turn over and now goal

Need a couple of steadiers, soon.

So 200 of each then?

More like 300

Hunt was a starting player in our pre-premiership side, but not today, unfortunately. He really sticks out. Very poor disposer of the ball.

Bowey has been great back there.

Max has been tripled teamed all night hence his 2 marks.

We need Jackson to ruck out the game.

Max is rooted

Clarry missed hitting up Kozzy, slowed then play down, got it to ANB who stuffed the decision making/kick to Maxi… turn over and goal.

Hunt truly plays like we've teleported someone from our 2018 team into our premiership side. You can see he's just not to the level.

Yep absolutely. I don’t know exactly what it is about him, but he looks like he hasn’t really progressed much since then? Or he panics when he gets the ball? Has the game passed him?

A long time since we have been outscored in Q4

Almost feel like we're being rest for next week. Big game. Friday night. Prime time. This whole game has been 2nd gear.

The ball is not gawns friend tonight

This is why we don’t play in Darwin anymore, the ball is a cake of soap and we don’t cope.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
