Amazing we have more than Richmond. Had to watch twice to see when Carlton's two weeks were.

Interesting that only 2 of the top 8 on that list have won premierships in the past decade (admittedly 3 for Hawthorn).

Shows the need to take your opportunities when they come.

Following up on Poita's thought; every club which has their biggest top-of-the-ladder streak in the time since 2005 -  Port (2020), Freo (2015), St Kilda (2009), Adelaide (2006), Western Sydney (2017) Gold Coast (N/A) has NOT won a premiership in the same period. It's a curse!

Also, despite all the time that Geelong spent on top of the ladder in recent decades, their longest streak in first place was way back in 1952-54. So at least the current Geelong players were around for it.

Crazy that the Tigers have finished on top only 15 times in 22 years but have 3 of the last 5 flags! to me it shows they had more fortune than the average team.  their dynasty will not be looked at on the same level as Lions, Hawks, Cats (and hopefully ours)

and I would NOT have tipped the bombers to be 5th on the list having not won a final for 16 years!  from absolute dominance to shizenhausen

Have a look at the amount of MCG Games the Tigers got in those 4 years. The AFL have zero integrity

OK.

2017 - 11
2018 - 14
2019 - 13
2020 - 4

Total = 42, but to be fair it was 38 in three years prior to 2020 being wrecked by COVID.

We had 35 in 2017-19. So only a gap of three.

How does that reflect a lack of integrity?

And I know you think Hawthorn's three flags were significantly harder won than Richmond's. So compare with Hawthorn 2012-15:

2012 - 13 (plus 4 at UTAS Stadium)
2013 - 9 (plus 4 at UTAS Stadium)
2014 - 11 (plus 4 at UTAS Stadium)
2015 - 9 (plus 4 at UTAS Stadium)

Total = 42, but 58 games at the G and UTAS Stadium.

Are you including “away” MCG appearances in those numbers?

the continuum becomes far more interesting when you do

Yes. Those are total games at the MCG.

The continuum is right there.

You don’t have a problem with 7 MCG games in a row?

I find that a massive advantage

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
