DeeSpencer 26,667 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 It's the second time Thomas has injured one of our players in 2 games this year. He likes to dish it out, not sure if he puts himself on the line to the same extent. But I'd certainly love that tackle it was Viney or Kossie. Quote

I was wrong & you are correct his arms are free. However absolutely reckless to pile drive him 6 inches into the ground. Arguably even more dangerous than a sling tackle. If its not illegal it should be. Quote

Langdon gains possession of the ball in North Melbourne’s back pocket before he is tackled by Thomas. It was the view of the Match Review Officer that Thomas’ actions did not constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken. I wish they'd actually explain these incidents. A big dumping tackle is a reportable offence. They can state why they think it wasn't or why the level of force makes it less than a fine or suspension, but instead they don't. There's not actually any explanation in their explanation! 1 Quote

Couldn't agree more. All this provides is a description of what we can see in the footage and then "it was the view of the Match Review Officer that [player's] actions did not constitute a reportable offence". Quote

These things happen every week & the usual worst case scenario is that the player underneath gets winded. Ed was unlucky. I'm a believer in tackling with intent & if the player tackled comes out of it a bit sore, so much the better. As others have said, I'd applaud any of our blokes who laid that tackle 2 Quote

Disagree, I thought it was a fair albeit bone crunching tackle. If the shoe was on the other foot we’d all be lauding it. 4 Quote

Ribs, shoulder, etc. are the risks inherent in a full contact sport Quote
DEE fence 5,051 Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 So 4 weeks is still a win for the cats, but also within parameters. If it had been a bad boy like Toby 6 or for Hawkins 1 2 Quote

640MD 3,562 Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Ok so Stewart will miss the blues and port Adelaide question. Will that cost jeelong 4 points foes he make a difference in those games ? 1 Quote

Or at least 5. 4 weeks was the absolute minimum for what was a deliberate, high, late, shoulder to the head . A hit which also lead to a pretty severe concussion. 2 Quote
Gawndy the Great 9,011 Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Any other player from any other team would have ‘been.n example of’ and copped 6. Could you imagine if that was Toby Greene laying the bump? 1 2 Quote

Fritta and Turner 4,688 Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 When Scott was giving 4 votes to Stewart he obviously got confused with the match Review Penalty 4 Quote
