Interesting no 50 call

Daisy is a Lever in the forward line - constantly instructing.👍

Last years was on reputation. This year she’s just an ok player. Can’t find the space she used to. The players without balance or strength in congestion aren’t doing well under the heat teams can put on.

Paxy was great last year! Won our BnF too. Not sure where you are coming from but don’t agree

she has the most touches today. A bit rusty this year so far but still quality

As far as I know there are no plans for a new home venue for the women. Gosch's will be re-developed to a full training oval but won't host games. Casey is not convenient but I've got used to driving out there now

I don;t think i'll go to the game today. Too hot. Hope the girls can handle the heat ok. Running around in 33 degrees is no fun

Maybe they can get some game at a Princes park or punt road? It’s crazy to be ‘Melbourne’ and not play in Melbourne. It will be difficult to build a fan base

Daisy Warne.

Great goal, Daisy!

Wow! Thought this was gonna go down to the wire. ❤️💙❤️💙

Dees ninth consecutive win!

We all singing??!! I certainly am!

Bit of a scrap, but a very good last quarter.

Hanks is a very natural footballer with a very fluid kicking action.

I also love the physicality of Harris, Zanka and Scott in particular.

Massive last quarter from the girls! 👏👏👏

All over and a big win to the Dees. Having the advantage of the wind in the final quarter on a hot day works wonders.

Floodgates.

Saints not disgraced. Scoreline flatters. We managed to force the ball into the forward line and individual skills then delivered, rather than much system.

Got the percentage boost after all. Great final quarter but pretty ordinary up to that

Play like we did til 3 quarter time next week and Adelaide will beat us easy. Hopefully thats the dodgy performance out of the way and we can put together a 4 quarter effort next week. We'll need to if we're to beat the Crows

Go Dees

Hanks is looking like a Clarry out there! She has lost some weight and has a good step of pace now. Won the clearance and then followed up with the goal!

Well done to St Kilda for the first three quarters.
They really tackled well and plugged up the holes across the ground to block up our running game.
Our defence did pretty well early on.
Great last quarter and a bot like the blokes last year. As long as we keep winning, that's all that matters.

Should be a cracking game next week.

Seemed a pretty good local attendance here today!

It took us til the last quarter to break the shackles. Lauren Pearce is a freak will be the difference between us winning the premiership or not. Good win but must start better against the Crows if we are to win that game.

Harris: Round , 1 goal; Round 2, 2 goals; Round 3, 3 goals...

Paxy, lots of tissues, yes, but pretty low on effectiveness this week. Right week to have a 'lapse' (as it turned out...)

Saints were good for 3 quarters but on a hot day like today you have to forgive some of the poor passages of play. The most concerning early on was the handball situation. There is too much of it and how many times did they handball to a player that was not clear of an opponent  and how many times were the handballs to a player running past completely off skew.

Tayla Harris played well. A very good mark.

Hore was good but a little inaccurate.

Fitzsimon played another good game and got better the longer the game went.

Hanks and Paxman were good as well. Paxman has been closely guarded by our opponents.

Colvin, Birch and Heath were good in the backline.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
