Of course you would of, pretty easy to say when you are not in the job.

I suggest your reply should have said 'would have', 'not would of'.  Just the same, how good is it to be on Demonland with such gracious people, who clearly have no idea about opinions and cannot allow someone having an alteranate opinion, without having a chip back.

Excuse me Dry as a Dale, but my opinion is my own.  I did not try to impose it on anyone else.  However, clearly, you've made your own choice to respond.

Why do I persist being here?  I'll get back to ya.

Go you mighty Demons.

Thanks for the english lesson. If you can't take criticism of your opinion then maybe keep it to yourself,  but that is only my opinion.

Not an English lesson, just correct English.  I'll espouse my opinion at all times. in line with the topic.  But I will never be a smart [censored], with someone who can articulate their alternate opinion, with grace.

Has there been any sort of statement yet from Jackson? Thanks MFC for giving me the opportunity, thanks to the members/fans... etc etc etc?

Disclaimer... I haven't read the whole thread & am currently overseas so don't get all the news, so apologies if already discussed.

That's the next photoshop job for someone. The cover of that movie with LJ's face in place of Jim Carrey.

I just want to say that i was played out of position by Mr Williamson in grade 6. He had me at CHF when i was clearly a ruck- rover type player. I have never forgotten that.

You have kind of missed what I thought was really obvious but as it seems you have the IQ of Dogga I will explain.

Even if you are pee'd off and feeling undervalued by MFC your PROFESSIONAL commitment means you play the game, tick the public boxes and move on....unlike players who think " professional "means it's only money and self interest.

No one is contesting self interest..just how you live with it in a professional manner.

Kind of. If you look at Grundys thanks to the Pies as comparison,  you will be left disappointed. Speaks a lot about his manager too.

OK I apologise.

1 Hunt currently feels hard done by and I have  personal information to support that's how he feels.

2 He accepts the decision as the lot of  professional athlete.

3.His reasons are listed

4 Nonetheless he makes respectful public comments as a professional athlete should.

5 I imply that currently the balance between rights and obligations in the AFL arena is skewed towards rights

6 Which is not an attractive ( classy) state of affairs.

7 I  hope that's now  clear and you are  intelligent enough ( from your critique) to understand this was a post about  "professionalism"in the AFL as much as the subject of the thread.

8 But I doubt it

I had a read of the Freo Bigfooty thread on Jacko.

Interestingly there are lots of references to JVR, and how much they seem to rate him and hope that he similarly goes back to WA.

Exactly, and some of the carry on by posters, talking about class etc when they show in this and many other threads a total lack of it

So you and Mr Williamson are double-teaming me? Luke couldn't be that dumb he gets his kicks playing AFL football and putting money in the bank, not posting aggrieved commentary on footy websites.

Think it's mostly because he's a key forward from WA who was a huge dockers supporter. There were rumours of him being a flight risk when he was drafted.

From his reaction to him drafted to us on draft night it didn't look like he was a flight risk.

We should assume any SA or WA player is a flight risk!.  Especially if they are high end draftees who show some success in their first few years.

Their recruiters get closer to their managers. schools, families and junior clubs long before being drafted.  The player will have barracked for one of the two teams.

'Going home' of top end talent is happening quite frequently now.  New draftees see how easy it is, be they in or out of contract, to 'go home'.  So  I would expect the 'go home' players will increase further from now on.

That is not to say we shouldn't draft them.  But:  Caveat emptor!

Most 1st round draftees sign a new contract early when they join a club and usually for at least two years.

He would be a high priority for early re-signing (along with Kozzie) so let's see what JVR does.  If he defers talks or signs for just one year as Jackson did the jungle drums will start beating!  Loudly!!

One of the SA clubs said that GC shouldn't bother recruiting Rankine because he would only come back to SA at the first opportunity, I think they said the same of Lukosius. So eastern states clubs recruit them and SA/WA clubs grab them for a very poor return.

Over the main Covid period it wasn't pleasant for anyone living in Victoria, maybe with the "State of Emergency" nearly over things will change. Maybe we can start to attract a few Victorians playing with WA/SA clubs to come back here.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
