Pull the other one. Absolutely nothing in either.

Come on, you really are accepting mediocrity! Daniel should get two weeks, minimum.

Bont was lucky he hit Oliver in the shoulder,

As for Daniel, all the boys are making fun of gawn for flopping and making it look worse

Move on bud we won the flag

FREED FROM DESIRE!

Why don't you go outside and hit your head on the ground hard enough to make a 8cm abrasion and see how you feel afterwards?

You are allowed one of those a game.

Yes, It would be very similar incident to what Gawn did if I did throw myself at the ground

Just watch this interview with Trac mate :)

I don't see why reportable offences should be overlooked just because we won.   Seemed clear to me that #4 hit his neck, not his shoulder and no question he intended to bump.  I wonder what those downplaying this would say if Clarry couldn't play on and we lost the match.

As for Gawn, the players may well be mocking him - who could resist?, but I can't see how anyone could bang their head into the ground like he did just to play things up. His head clealry moved too fast into the ground.  Maybe his arms waved about unnecessarily, but look at the replay. Where did the momentum for his head hitting the ground come from other than from the tackle?

Dead right, Sue. Daniel should be reported. It is laughable that the AFL can't be bothered. What is it? Do they want to start their Christmas holidays early?

Norm Smith Medalist on pretender Norm Smith Medalist?

Daniel tackle should have been a free. It was dangerous and out of play. I completely reject the assertion that Gawn hammed it up. The logical inference is that he hit his head on the astroturf hard enough to take skin off on purpose. Okay then 👍 but like I said, just a missed free.

Agreed.

He is a big guy yes, but once he was put off balance he hit the ground hard and had a noticeable head bump. He definitely didn't play it up, and if the situation was reversed and Gawn did that to the little t*rd Daniel, the free would have been there.

The sheer fact that it was a little guy putting down a big guy is why they didn't pay it I think. But it was late and it was dangerous and it was out of play. A free kick everyday of the week. Absolutely nothing more.

But it did mean Gawn went forward and Jacko went into the ruck, and the rest, as they say, is history!

CP5, if I'm not mistaken.

Are you kidding CYB? I was concerned Max might have been concussed. Besides that, Danial's action happened AFTER  both were over the boundary line. It was unduly rough behavior and was worth at least two weeks. Daniel is very lucky Max got up. People are saying how great it was Max said Dogga should take the ruck for the rest of the quarter. How about Max being stunned and having to recover from having his head swung onto the artificial surface, not even the grass, and having to spend time on the bench to recover? .

Not saying it wasn't there. It was. But Maxy over exaggerated the impact and injured himself in the process. And the exaggeration alone will have it tossed out of the MRO. We will never know how much sling was actually involved unfortunately. I also thought he would be pulled off for a concussion test, but I'm afraid that would have been self-inflicted.

Was seething in the moment, but after watching several times it was clear that there was a bit of staging involved.

The Toby Greene hearing/AFL appeal will be upon us soon enough

I expect it’s more to do with being kind to the losing team added to the usual beloved top players discount.

Caleb tackle was defintely a miss free kick, but nothing more.

Bont on the other hand - had no intent other than to ran through Clarry, and hit him straight in the head. What the hell replay are people watching that shows him hitting his shoulder? Pretty laughable that the MRO didn't pull him up

I reckon  May should be rubbed out for not telling the maggots that he played with a torn hammy..

On top of that, in  the throwing the ball competition it ended up a draw between, funnily enough, two Footscray blokes. Both short little on ballers. Enough said...

Tracc's not going to start a sh*t-fight on national TV. Be real. Of course he's going to laugh it off.

Clarrie is a tough bastard but the whack shook him up for a moment. So, high, deliberate and let's say low impact. So how is not scrutinized?

It's all very well to say haha we won, doesn't matter ..... but it is yet another example of the high farce that the match review/tribunal process has become.

A total disgrace that it's been shoved under the bull [censored] carpet.

Have a look at the replay and watch Bont - no eyes on the ball - he is lining Oliver up.

Agreed, at the time I thought it was worth weeks.

Meh ... Just won the Grand Final.
No-one got hurt.

Max took a dive and bumped his head putting abit too much mayo on it.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
