Have heard the crowd will be pro Demons. I hope so.

Perhaps some Perth Dlanders have a clue?

Too early to tell but what would be the reason for this speculation. Tix sold?

In the city centre at the moment for lunch and a nerve settler before heading to the ground and it's looking very close to 50/50 supporter split.

For those of you suffering from feelings of nausea - stay calm, try to breathe deeply,  and don't succumb to footbulimia.

My wife has outdone herself.

Footy franks

Sausage rolls

Kfc.

All the comfort food I need. I just wish there was some left.

I wonder how the players the are?

Its always fun to watch them line up and sing the anthem .

The nerves probably stay with them for most of the first as they run the nervous energy out of their system. But until then we usually see quite a few clangers and poor diposals. Will be harder on the younger players.

On the otherhand after being locked up for two weeks they are probably keen to just be out and about.

I so hope we get a great jump on them and keep a 30 point plus lead over them all day.

The bus is on its way .

Can now reveal under Freedom of information legislation (thank you Premier McGowan) on AFL Grand Final morning. That your Top End correspondents have managed to ‘negotiate’ the WA frontier and have been ‘embedded’ in the Demons campaign here in Perth.

We will endeavour as representatives of demon land to be on our ‘best’ behaviour all day and honour the traditional proprieties but there are no guarantees after the siren🚨

Just to give you folks back in the demon heartland some local colour.

Former captain Gary Lyon is ensconced in the Crown Casino Towers, a little too rich for us humble folk down here at ground zero in an air b&b.

We have ‘co-mingled’ as much as is possible with the troops and can report team morale is high and the preparation for ‘battle’ is at an absolute optimum.

The locals are ‘abuzz’ with the prospect of a Perth based Grand Final. With a perceptible groundswell of support for the red and the blue.

The local media coverage with Ben Cousins redemption prominent, the Nik Nat and Nat show is in full swing. As expected the eagles and dockers don’t seem to disappear with seemingly acres of column space devoted to their post-season trivia. Just inside the back pages.

Of the local demonland identities?

We are on the lookout for a vintage Ford Mustang on high revs, screaming about the Swan river escarpment. But alas no sightings as yet, besides the public transport infrastructure has improved significantly since our last visit.

When we bravely stood on the terraces at Subiaco to barrack on Robbie Flower resplendent in the Big White V.

Pennant St Dee and Chook are indubitably out there and will be in attendance. Although we are reliably informed DannyZ up early for breakfast  has apparently choked on his porridge.

The son  and heir and his wife are there with tickets. They have been fully briefed and are ready to roll.

Channel 7 just showed the team bus on the way to the ground.

That just kicked up the nerves.

Jesus, the coverage pre game is dull.

Anyone wanting to take your mind off it watch storm v panthers what a game so far

Just had a 10km radius walk down at the G and it was so great to see some other fellow Dees fans about. Everything within reason of course but honestly it was just great to see some Dees fans around up and about.

Dogs wankfest on 7. 🤮

The time has crept up slightly. Don't know how but I guess it's a good thing.

Dad has an unopened bottle of rum from 1956. If we win, we open it. If not, gets put away again next year

Arrived at my dads. Never seen him this excited. Yeah even wearing the Halloween nurse costume (thank goodness I wasn’t stopped by police! Dunno how I would have explained that) as I am official a ‘carer.’
This could be the best day of our lives or the worst. Just so glad we could be together. Brothers are on Skype. It’s a real family affair ❤️

I just hope you end up having to wear your hair like Sailor Moon for the whole of next week!!!

Enjoy the match with your Dad!

GO DEES! ❤️💙

Oh watching the boys getting off the bus is getting me excited but also nervous.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
