I can put it right there in your hands.

Some Blood & Thunder on Friday night (minus the lightning break) would go alright.

Didn’t realise there was such appreciation for metal on DL. I'll be listening to all the suggestions posted in this thread

As a youngster I was big into metal. Thrash, death, grindcore. Mellowed out as I got older and have a real appreciation for the likes of Soungarden but over the past while (might be because of lockdown) I’m listening to all the old metal again. Napalm Death and Carcass are getting a lot of playtime at the moment.

In terms of stuff that I never listened to previously (and wish i had) I have to say Meshuggah are a serious band. Very complicated, layered and technically accomplished metal. Their drummer, Tomas Haake, is gifted. They are well worth a listen.

Old Tool

SG endlessly.

newer Propagandhi - they get better with age

Will never forget seeing soundgarden in a subtropical summer storm BDO GC 2012 opening with searching … closing with beyond the wheel. Lighting , thunder. I lost my proverbial. One of the best gigs ever along with RHCP One Hot Minute tour in 96, Tool at MMB (because I got Flood and Third Eye) and Lagwagon at the Barwon (fell down onto the stage with Joey ). Oh, rock the bells with RATM in LA 2007 doing media. Wu tang, pepper spray, couch fires

Friday On My Mind

Monday mornin' feels so bad
Ev'rybody seems to nag me
Comin' Tuesday I feel better
Even my old man looks good
Wed'sday just don't go
Thursday goes too slow
I've got Friday on my mind

Similarly…

Monday you can fall apart

Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart

Thursday doesn’t even start

It’s Friday, I’m in love.

Saturday, wait

Sunday always comes too late

Friday never hesitate

I don’t care if Monday’s blue

Tuesday’s grey, and Wednesday too

Oh Thursday I don’t think about you

It’s Friday, I’m in love.

Let me in ya pub !

Amyl and the Sniffers are great fun. They've put out some cool stuff lately.
Might be an anthem for those double jabbed in NSW shortly.

Anyone that says Rock and Roll is dead, just needs to look a little further. Triple J is a wasteland. Community Radio is still playing great new stuff.

The Chats are great fun as well:

West Thebarton from Adelaide are a great live band:

Royal Headache put out a cracking album before they fell apart.
An ode to Chris Scott:

Sir Ed Keupper from the Saints put out an absolute cracker of an album and EP a year or two ago.I can't recommend it enough if you like your rock and roll with horns!

Future of the Left. Falco taking a slap at the fact bands get paid nothing for their music, so they go on tour to sell Tshirts. And kids in ramones tshirts who don't even know who the ramones are:

There's loads of great new stuff out there. Great thread @Engorged Onion

The Bitter End by Placebo, with the lyrics: “Reminds me that it’s killing time, on this fateful day… I’ll see you at the bitter end!”

Coz regardless of the outcome tomorrow, there’s gonna be a bitter end to someone’s 2021 season. Here’s to it being a bitter end for Geri-long.

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die!
