No we haven’t won the premiership or have another Brownlow winner but minor premiers, 5 in AA, nab rising star, 3 players in the under 22s and coaches award.

We are finally back for real.
After that smashing against Geelong 2011 I seriously thought will we survive as a club.

we where in such a deep hole I honestly questioned if we’d make it.

but ten years later look at us now!

Thank you all for sticking with the club also, for believing we could turn it all around.
We have our mighty dees back!

Now let’s get down to business.
LETS GO DEES!!

It's certainly a good time to be a Dees supporter.

A timely thread, Girl; I was looking for somewhere to say I realised some time (well!) after midnight last night that I was overdosing on Demonland. Time for a break!

I don’t know about anyone else but every time I read something positive about the club it just fills me with utter joy and the tears start welling in my eyes again. I am scared of what I will be like if we do win the grand final! Here’s to the Dees! you're crying season 4 GIF by Blindspot

This year and and our current list is the dawn of a new era for the Mfc.

May we go from strength to strength.

It definitely is quite pleasing and makes me feel some pride as a Melbourne Demons supporter. We certainly have suffered over the years. All these All Australians and individual awards. They certainly are great!

However, I hope the Demons players have their minds set on achieving bigger things than just mere individual accolades.

I have been a member since 1998 and I remember when I was a bit younger how excited I was in 1998 and 2000. Does anybody remember Demon Radio in those days? I used to love listening to it!

Anyway, this time it feels different. This is the best I have ever seen the MFC play as an entire team! I am just trying not to get too ahead of myself.

I wanna see the Demons win a Premiership so I can celebrate with with my Dad and the rest of my family. I will probably cry tears of joy once the final siren sounds.

But we all need to hold our horses! We still have a long way to go! We have a very formidable opponent in the Brisbane Lions this weekend and that needs to be our focus and the total focus of all the Demons players and coaching staff.

I wanna allow myself to dream though....but I have been disappointed so many times before that it's hard to allow myself to do that for very long. It must be the MFCSS that I have developed over the many years.

Could this be the year we break the drought of a Premiership flag that has been going for 57 years? I honestly don't know yet.... we won't know until the end of September.

Nevertheless, I have high hopes and this song by Panic! At The Disco which is aptly titled "High Hopes" definitely helps me dare to dream that the Demons are in with a chance! Fingers crossed!

GO DEMONS!!!

Sorry @Supreme_Demon but that song got ruined for me when Pete Buttigieg had those dancing flash mobs undulating to it.

Upon seeing this footage, I too was convinced Trump would remain US president for the next 200 years. 😄😅

Love all the great posts, after watching the AFL Awards this morning I was feeling quite delirious such a great watch and it all rotated around our mighty team and if anyone still doubted Simon Goodwin listen carefully to our top players. All our Key Indicators are pointing towards a Premiership, how crazy happy would that be for thr entire Demon Family.!

This is me!!!! I’m always proud of our boys and always have been. But this overwhelming feeling of pride is insane!
I could get used to this. 😊

we’ve had a week of peak happiness have we not. Love it but i’m seriously  hoping i’m not still saying that about this week in a few weeks time!

Not sure where to put this.

But today the boys said their goodbyes to their wives and girlfriends which means they could be away from their families for a number of weeks.

Gary Pert sent a bunch of flowers to all the players partners today as a recognition of support and to say thank you.

Well done Gary Pert and the Melbourne Football Club.

We have turned the corner as a footy club - on and off the field. When I look at our progress this year, it’s no fluke. We have a plan and we’re sticking to it - again - on and off the field.

This year has been incredible so far, but the best thing for me, is that we have set ourselves up for years to come.

If Norm really has put a curse on this Grand Old club, maybe he has waited to see how long it would take for the club to be deserving of another Premiership. Maybe now he is ready to lift it off.

He didn’t. It’s just a silly excuse people invented for poor performances. Anyone that believes that must still believe in Santa Claus. Even if he did, he returned as coach and would have immediately reversed any “curse” he put on it.

Lets hope we can win it this year and prove this excuse was nothing but ridiculous hocus pocus.

I always thought of the "Curse of Norm Smith" as the curse placed upon Melbourne by the Footy Gods for what was done to Norm, not the curse of Norm for what was done to him.

He's just a man. He has no power to cause the calamities that have befallen Melbourne over the years. Only the Footy Gods have that power.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.
