If those two finals in Tassie aren’t a packed house (to maximum COVID allowances assuming there are some) then they don’t have a chance of getting a team of their own.

I'm a big proponent of Tassie getting a team of their own (or a relocated team) however if they don't fill the stadiums this week then I will change my tune on that and say that they don't deserve a team of their own.

Dogs got stiffed big time after nominating Adelaide Oval as their preferred venue for this week. HQ will want the Bummers getting through this week for sure.

I want the dogs to win, as I know we can beat them and they are down on form.

And

I HATE the bombers!!!!

If we lose a final, that will be bad enough, but if we lost to the Bombers, I would be so so so so shattered and angry!

Happy to see some games in Tassie, though I'm a little surprised that both games are in Launceston and that Hobart missed out?

If we end up hosting Port in the Friday Night Prelim, I expect it to be in Hobart myself.

Swans are the real smokey, I would not be surprised if they made the Prelim.

The loser of the Port - Geel game has to play a confident Swans or GWS.

Us and BL have got the softer side of the draw - no excuses for either not to make a Prelim.

Would love to win this week of course and won’t get too far ahead of myself but…

My bet for prelims is;

Melb v Syd

Port v BL

Dogs have gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in a blink of an eye. Clear on top before losing their final three games & main key forward and now being shunted down to Launceston to play a sudden death final in a late Sunday time slot. Judging by the pro Essendon crowd at the recent Hawthorn game down there it'll feel more like an away game in more ways than one.

The parallels between the Dogs of 21 and the Dees of 04 are many.

Save for the fact that they have a midfield and ESS don’t have Hird…

I wonder what our plans are.

We trained in Melbourne today.

I assume we will also depart to SA shortly and stay there if we lose. If we win I wonder if we go home and then fly out to WA instead? Or do we stay in SA regardless then fly to WA directly with less quarantine restrictions having spent a week in SA?

Either way, I am glad nobody is expecting a baby soon (except Jones).

These are my desired outcomes:

  • Dogs to dispatch Bombers in Elimination.
    • I think the Bombers are the real smokey if they get past the Dogs.
  • Swans beat GWS (pretty indifferent on this one to be fair)
  • Port beat Geelong (Cats out in straight sets is my Utopia this Finals)

Both games sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale.

Interesting that old mate Chris Scott just said on AFL360 that Geelong expects to go to Perth a few days after its Port Adelaide clash, regardless of whether it wins or loses.

Does this suggest the same will happen with us? Meaning, if we got beaten by the Lions, we would play the winner of Bulldogs/Essendon in Perth, but more importantly, Port Adelaide in Perth if they beat Geelong (so they don't get a home preliminary final)?

Hinkley then says he thinks Port would get a 2nd Adelaide home final...

Faith restored.

Are you going?

Nah. Both games are in Launceston (3 hour drive each way from my place), I’m busy on Saturday and don’t want to spend my only weekend day in the car. Would have gone if it was in Hobart though.

Bombers have a pretty solid following in Tassie so that was expected. I’m pleasantly surprised the Sydney GWS game sold out so quickly too though.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
