We did a deal with Brisbane in last year's exchange period to trade first-round picks – the Lions sent picks 18, 19 and a future second-rounder to us in exchange for our future first-round pick, No.25, 68 and 69.

If we cross out the pick 18 (a years wait) i.e. got Bowey a year early.

Has this been confirmed? I know that these were being reviewed annually.

They're still garbage so you'd assume it'll be retained as originally intended.

Not sure anything can help them though.

Look I am being a bit harsh on them. 

They have improved but still underwhelm  and AFL will do everything in their power for them to succeed so imagine they will get their final concessions this year. 

Otherwise the vultures will circle and they'll be back to square one again.

I couldn't remember why we didn't have a first round pick this year, so I went hunting.  Turns out Brisbane gambled on us having a bad year.  They gave us picks 18 and 19 in the 2020 draft, along with their second round pick this year, in exchange for our first round pick this year and picks 25, 68 and 69 last year.  Basically gave up 18 and 19 in return for pick 18.  They must be just a little peeved at us winning the GF.  🤣

How this trade hasn't gained more attention I don't know. 

If Laurie ends up looking the goods we're laughing. Essentially a freebie on top of Bowey.

Ironically enough, Bowey would be a great replacement for Birchall.

Now that we have Dunstan, do we only have 2 picks in the draft or do we have to offload someone like Baker? Hope Andrew doesn't get picked in the top 20 so we can recruit him at 34 and then recruit Woewodin at pick 45 and then we are done? Taylor has it easy this year he does deserve it though.
