Hunt isn't in that stratosphere.

They could that good for a threepeat.

We've already forgotten Jetta?

I don't know about Bowey yet

Jetta has not been in this  new group other than cameos and clearly sadly is past his best. Hibbo has until his recent drop been very good for the last 2 seasons and is fighting for his life to be part of it.

BTW that doesn't diminish Lord Nev's career which has just cycled earlier than this elite group at the moment.

As for Bowey yes it's hard on a 2 time sample but any one with footy knowledge and feeling for the game couldn't have been more impressed with his debut so far. He has adapted to the pace of the game and looked composed clever and team orientated.

His debut has resembled Trent Rivers while Harry Petty took about half a dozen games to find his feet but now looks like replacing Tommo.

Hunt is a pick especially  for his run and carry and we may miss this in the next month  from our defence but time will tell. This defence is undoubtedly still the cornerstone of our flag tilt along with our elite midfield.

Is that a question, an affirmation, a spelling mistake or a bodily movement?

It’s a question asking what in the living hell you were off on that tangent for after quoting what @Skuitsaid. He was referring to footy players providing pablum and you then veered off the highway and into the brush.

@dazzledavey36merely reacted like the rest of the traffic on the highway as you veered off amongst the trees and seemed to accelerate.

Hence the ‘wut’

Jetty was my favourite  when he had to bash his body to pieces going 3rd in against the big forwards who were likely to kick 10 against  Oscar.

It's a pity his day has passed.

I figure Hibberd won't be part of the back 6 for the ages either.

Hunt can have a number of roles ,given he is one of the few genuine quicks in the 22.

But there is still room for a long term champion lock down back.

We’ve conceded the fewest points across the whole league this season. It already is a backline to remember.

I am going against my habitual doubts and suggesting it could be a backline that other teams  supporters remember in 5 years time!

He has come good after a shake start.

May,Lever,Rivers , Petty ,Salem..just need one more with run and with  a bit of muscle on Trent and its a backline we will remember.

Imagine just how good Petty and Rivers, and probably Bowey, will be in the future after playing under May and Lever fo 2-3 years.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
