Wonder if Gladys will be watching

A photo posted by NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian as she gets ready to watch NSW clash with Queensland in the State of Origin rugby on Wednesday, four hours before it starts.

I wouldn't have thought AFL footy was one of Glady's passions in life but happy to be proven wrong.

Ring the services Victoria help line if you want to know if you can fly, they are usually pretty helpful. Just snuck up myself before the cut off on the 27th by train, thats another option but takes a whole day.

Listening to people on this thread working out how to play the rules on movement restrictions makes me glad that myself, my wife and in particular the aged care home she works at are all fully vaccinated. Presumably the seating at the SCG is going to be in the same blocks method as they used at Giants Stadium so it'll be shoulder-to-shoulder.

On a brighter note, I've been thrilled to see the Freeze MND beanies around Sydney this week. I wasn't even sure they'd were actually selling them at Coles/Bunnings and so forth but I got mine the other day and quickly had a few people ask if I could pick up some more for them. By the time I got back to the local shops this morning I was buying all but the last one in the display.

I'm sharing the news because I'm sure a few people will be relieved to know that this event is getting some traction up here and the MND effort isn't facing as much of a failed event as we might have feared.

Plus, the #positivelingers t-shirt sales have gone through the roof, which helps.

With all due respect, I don’t see it as playing with the rules, but rather, working out what we are allowed to do. If the NSW government thought there was a risk, they would not have revoked their public health notice. They did because they do not consider there is a risk. The fear mongering by the Victorian government is beyond belief. I wish we had Gladys here!

In regards to being able to fly, droves of people left Melbourne last year during the long lockdown to head to Howard Springs in Darwin as the NT was the only place Victorians were allowed into (albeit having to quarantine on arrival). Some did it to then head to Qld for the Grand Final. It was actually well publicised. The Victorian government or police never came out and said they fined everyone that did this or warned people against it for exceeding their 5km to either get to the airport, or fly in the air. The moral of the story - you can fly!

Fair points well stated.

defuture15… did you get allocated new seats? I got a seat relocation email from Ticketek saying the seats I was originally given are no longer available; we’re now in Bay 15 in the Victor Trumper Concourse in row CC.

Yes same.

I ended up rebooking as my daughter and her partner are coming too

Charlie Kicked 3 last time to break the Pies spirit

There was no Max No Jackson

Surely we smash this lot and send them back to the bottom

Go dees

Me and Mrs P have our tickets and beanies ready to go. Can’t bloody wait.

Got My Beanie this morning.

Usually chuck a sickie over here in Perf for the QB game but my boss from Brisneyland is flying in at lunchtime the [censored]. ??

For anyone going to the game tomorrow, according to an email from the club, there will be beanies on sale at the SCG.

My main concern at the moment is that an email I received from Ticketek states that entry into the various stands is staggered (as part of Covid control) and that entry to the Victor Trumper Concourse where we are sitting, begins at 2:35pm. The reason I am concerned about this is that according to the game day preparations email I received today from the club, the slide at the MCG is happening from 2pm... I won't be happy if we miss seeing that on the big screen because of this staggered entry.

Saw that too Hardtack. It's a bit difficult when you are coming from. 6.5 hours away!

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.
