I hope it is not played in Adelaide because no spectator is allowed to touch the ball. The first time it goes over the fence it cannot be returned to the field, game over.

It won't be played Adelaide after Nicola's commentary.

If it was I'd gladly take it care of it.

Small joke there, she is a good example of a  chief expert who has no idea of communication. From hence forward no one will take the slightest notice of her.

Just as an aside. the fact that less than 3% of Australia is fully vaccinated in June 2021 is nothing short of scandalous...

From the outside it appears to be a combination of complacency and apathy from the public, mixed with slow response from the government.

@rpfc totally get what you’re saying, and good for the northern fans. But don’t forget the northern fans got pretty well looked after last season as well. Queens Birthday at the SCG will be a challenge to get over 20k I’d imagine, if the G and crowds are available for the following week I think Victorian members should rightfully feel frustrated.

They can feel frustrated but they can shove their comments about ‘empty stadiums’ and ‘500 people will rock up’ and that’s just as good as playing in front of no one up their you-know-whats.

As a Demon up in Canberra I have travel to see every game pretty much so having NSW based Dees be given a treat like watching the Lions game and QB is a massive silver lining to these cloudy times.

I wish there was a bit more empathy that’s all.

The empathy should go both ways. Don’t get me wrong I know the treat of seeing a rare match as I haven’t seen a H&A match live since 2018 (of course it would be our losses to the Hawks and Tigers back to back ?‍♂️).

My brother lives in Sydney so he’s in the same camp in that he looks at the fixture to work out which games he’ll come down for, and he’s really grateful for the additional chances he’s had to watch live footy.

Clearly at the end of the day it should be played in front of a crowd wherever that may be. Seeing it from the Victorian fans perspective, who may well lose another MCG match because of a made up Alice Springs game, and didn’t see the team at all last year, I would be frustrated and angry if all avenues weren’t considered to have the game at the G the following week if fans could attend.

We’re all Dees fans at the end of the day, I hope you and every northern state fan sees this rare chance as a gift not to be squandered and we get the SCG packed out.

For long suffering NSW members they are getting two games in a row in Sydney. It could not happen to a more deserving group. Enjoy guys.

What do we reckon the crowd number will be? I predict 10,000 to 15,000.

Yeah around that. The fact that the state of origin will dominate the marketing and headlines next weekend won't help.

Has it been established what we will be earning from this game - if anything?

Did we have to write out a cheque for the Lions win at Giants Stadium?

They need to get COVID under control ASAP in VIC for obvious reasons.

With lockdown likely to end on Thursday night there's no reason why Melbourne supporters can't go up for the game. Current NSW policy is you have to follow Victorian rules if you go to NSW. On that basis, surely if the lockdown is over, same rules then apply in NSW from there on...

I got my tickets (to be sent to mobile), but when I click the links in the SMS they are not yet available. The first time I’ve encountered that.

Same for me just ordered & paid for mine - received text message and nothing on link - assume they will sort that out at some stage

Impressive system - NOT

Anyway go Dees - put the filth to the sword and show no mercy

Got Mrs IT coming again with me and the boy. And bringing a couple of friends. Went out and bought everyone fresh MND beanies from my local Bunnings up here. Very surprised I could do that up here. Impressive. No one up here would have a clue what they are.

This has been the worst 10 days financially in the Clubs history. $1.8mill lost just like that. Seem so absurd not to have allowed QB to go ahead. Thrilled to get to see it up here but appreciate the terrible cost to the Club.

Have tickets booked to come down and see the Dons game. Hope it's on. That would unexpectedly make 3 in a row. One of the bigger seasons I've had adding on to the Saints game earlier in the year. How things have changed. I went to that 2nd rounder with a couple of mates and all of us expecting it to be a loss because they were top 4 bound and we would be scrapping to make 8th. Perspective is just a bit different now especially after Friday.

Yeah, we have to send the GWS game to Alice and get that $800k cheque.

I really hope they do this. Ideally it would be the Cats game. That GMBH Stadium is a seething sess pool of Covid. Can't have the game there under any circumstances.

Just please don't transfer any of them to Cairns.

GWS game is the one after the ESS game and probably there will still be restrictions on crowd size in Melbs. I would prefer that to Adel in the second last round as we are sandwiched between a trip to Perth and your aforementioned trip to Mordor.

I was having a lend. GWS makes sense. What a huge benefit to the Club it would be if that happened.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
