Should have closed the border earlier but the governments wait until the proverbial hits the fan

Mind you, the truckies probably get exemptions so Covid finds a way in somehow

And the truckie in question may not have been showing any signs of the infection and then tested positive later on

Exactly how I read the report Macca. He had all the required paper work etc. Probably thought he was fine. That’s is the thing with this virus people who have contracted it feel fine in early stages when they are infectious.
You would almost think it was designed this way for maximum affect!!!!!!!!!

would be amazing if Vic escapes another outbreak between now and September.

As sure as night follows day, Jim.

I was at a small gathering over the weekend, mostly people I didn't know. The woman next to me mentioned her husband works in the transport industry and just got back from Sydney. I asked why she wasn't at home isolating with him. The reply was that they were exempt from isolating and testing because he works in the transport industry, as if that is some sort of COVID barrier!

Go figure.

I got tested the next morning, of course.

Here we go again NSW has just announced AZ fine for anyone over 40. I wonder why the vaccination centres are not being rushed.

Honestly we are being lead by idiots on many levels.

That is not what was said, OD.

Kerry Chant was very clear - go speak to your GP and if you are cognisant of the risk, and are comfortable with AZ, then go get it.

The medical advice from ATAGI has not changed.

Perhaps she wasn't from a hotspot or exposure site?

The border rules changed at 11.59AM 11/7/21.

It might be interesting to contemplate whether the Big Show needs to head up north to QLD. At present, both NSW teams and Vic teams can get to QLD, along with SA and WA, IIRC.

So as to have crowds/gate...depends how the leak into Vic goes.

Thise rules were for all of NSW. Sydney has been a red zone for considerably longer than that.

2 new cases in Vic from people coming back from NSW who inexplicably did not quarantine

we'll be in lockdown in a week

FMD

why were they not required to isolate?  so they tested negative? who cares? they are positive now. still isolate FFS.  this is too serious to not take every precaution

They were in quarantine at home, as per their red zone permit, according to numerous media sites.

But were they? I don’t  necessarily mean these particular people, but the many who are being trusted to do the right thing while quarantining at home. It’s painfully clear that while the majority do the right thing, there will always be a percentage who don’t.

Maybe they are one of those amazing people, like those in NSW, who were in ‘partial isolation’.

You know, they were at home, unless they went out. Obviously.

They were at home when they weren’t out shopping with their list of necessities like bed frames in IKEA, cushions in Kmart and gym leggings in Bondi.

So, logically, you’d have to think a hard 6 week lockdown for anyone who barracks for either of those 2 teams is the only solution.

It’s for the good of the nation.

This is going back a few weeks, the Western Bulldogs official that was at  Highpoint, was he in the shop at the same time as the person that tested positive?

No surprise. It was only a matter of time. The only surprise is that it took a day or two longer than I expected.

Just when you thought the Geelong Carlton game couldn't get any worse for your health...

just said on radio that attendees of carlscum, jilong game at the g to go into 14 day home isolation

didn't catch if it was all attendees or just those in mcc area

more to come

Interesting to see what's going to happen if the NT closes the border with Victoria before Saturday.

It's a tier 2 site. Level 2 MCC Members.

Tier 2 means you need to get tested immediately and isolate until you get a negative result.

So if anyone on Demonland was at that game, shame on you for wasting your precious life, but also, go get tested!

So the article I found read “Western bulldog official was in Highpoint during exposure period”. Didn’t specify which shop but I’m sure I heard on the radio at the time he was in the same shop. Then he interacts with the playing group, the playing then plays the Dees, the Dees then travel to Sydney and play the Lions in Sydney, all of this happens inside a two week period….

Are you suggesting our club spread Covid to Sydney?!

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
