Trade Weed for the Bont at the end of the year and we win 2022 hands down. Problems solved.

Sadly, this is true for almost any club in the 8. He is elite. Without him the dogs are a 6-10th team. I’ve watched him win 5 games himself for them this year.

No, you questioned our wingers and our height in defence.

Footy Show today Cain Cornes says we don't have a compelling forward line - we cant kick a decent score which is my proposition in this thread.

I got howled down at the time but the question remains - do we have enough forward talent to win in September?

The same Kane Cornes who said we "want for nothing" about six weeks ago?

First thing we need to do is win the next 3 to finish top 4. Lions could win all 4 and also Swans.

Cant see us winning at kardinia. Maybe it will be moved or tge crowd shut out and we might be a slim chance but the cats we beat were at half strength.

If we win the next 3 the Cats game might not matter too much.

Lol. Have you been on Demonland since? I don't even remember what I said back in May, but given Cody is 4 foot 1 and I'm 6 foot 6, I doubt I'd be coming off second best...

True but how many think we will really win the next three given our last six.

Sorry mate.

Just looking at the lack of posting lately on this site and i cant help but there is a sense of resignation we are done.

We will be lucky to win 1 of the next 4. Let’s be quite honest with ourselves. Rd 23 in Geelong could get really ugly. We will get towelled up in Perth. The Gold Coast are running well at the moment and will be a chance. We a just an average side with a good defence. That’s being realistic. Teams have worked out has to overcome our defence and we can’t score enough to win games. It’s curtains for this season. Might win a final, but we aren’t going much further

Pay that AF, but he did stand on Maxs head.

I'd put it right up there with digging up a 2 month old post to prove the point that guesses are just that. guesses.

The Dogs had 20 scoring shots last night, their equal second-lowest for the season.

Two weeks prior Port had 15 scoring shots and 55 points, their lowest number of scoring shots and second-lowest score for the season.

We're averaging 68 points against post-bye. We averaged 72.5 points against pre-bye.

The Dogs' 20 scoring shots against us last night is the most we've conceded post-bye. Meanwhile post-bye we've had at least 20 scoring shots in every single game we've played.

What are our intercept marks like? Happy to stand corrected, but it is where we generated a lot of our play from. It seems like teams are putting the ball in quicker and to ground to keep May and Lever out of it. That’s my observation. I reckon in the Hawks and Dogs game, both May and Lever were quiet, although holding their direct opponents, due to the quick entries and chaos balls

Too much common sense here Titan.  We've also not lost any match by more than 20 points for the season and in all bar the Collingwood game we've had more or the same scoring shots than the opposition. I'm still a believer.

Why can I not stop laughing at this? FFS, I’m legit crying.
“Bombers win - almost wrong”

”Suns win - probably wrong”

”Dogs lose - Bingo!”

Stop it! ?

Sounds then like your criticism is about how we score, not how we defend. Given our scores against and scoring shots against remain low, I remain of the view we're hard to score against.

We're still generating plenty of inside 50s and scoring shots, so I also don't think our ball movement or transition is markedly worse, albeit it was much better vs Port and Essendon than it was vs GWS and Hawthorn.

The difference in our form pre- and post-bye is, IMO, a much smaller difference than many posts suggest. We're doing a hell of a lot similar to what we were doing to get to 11-1, but a few small differences are proving crucial and costing us games.

Well, when the coach says post-match "I'm not worried one bit" you can understand the concern.

What he says in public may well be  different from how he really feels. Someone over on the  “is Goodwin the right guy?” thread explained how he/she interprets that comment as well as other things Goody said in that presser. Made a tonne of sense.

So you’re telling me we’re a chance?
Great compiling of stats there.

but it doesn’t stand up to the ‘eye test’ of some in here!

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
