I had trouble getting into the ground ( tickatek ) and missed the players running on . I saw a message on Demonland today saying Bring Back the Bell . Surely they have not stopped this essential

calling of supporters that OUR team is coming onto the ground !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate unnecessary noise like GOAL ,GOAL ,GOAL  BUT IF it is true it is a threat to civilisation as we know it . Ha ha .

I listen the the AC/DC clip regularly and stop when the singing starts .   I love it and want it louder ( I am 61 ) .

Nothing I could find on google so will relax and find out on Sunday .

Go Dees .

Nobody's interested in hearing about your IQ, Craig.

I don't drink alcohol . Like this all the time .

What about the bugler Hutchy, keen for your thoughts on that pregame that is no longer.

Good question re the bugler . Still trying to think how to smuggle it into the G . Even the smallest bugle does not fit " where the sun don't shine " . Any suggestions 13 ? What do you mean by " pregame that is no longer ?

Does anyone know the answer to the original question ?

Shrek

Shrek is an Ogre, not a troll. ?

Love the enthusiasm Hutchy, but all these threads are the equivalent of a meeting that could have just been an email

Sorry Paul you are right . On a another topic a few others think I am a troll so , in jest , I signed off Shrek Troll/ Ogre .

My mistake .

I prefer face to face meetings smokey . It will be all over soon and this tread will exorcise Hutchy .

The tread would be much shorter if you all stopped avoiding the question . If you don't know no need to contribute .

Muting me is another option .

Tongue in cheek mate, no malice intended

The second sentence was for everyone 13 . No malice felt by me at all ! Go Dees .

With the way we're playing ATM coming out to the pre-game bells would be brilliant.

That is sooooo funny . If ANYONE messes with OUR Bell we can all become Senor Ding Dong's !

I will !

Not wanting to derail your thread Hutchy... but I’m more interested in the question - How early is too early to sing the song (our song, A Grand Old Flag)?

I sit with a rabid singer, and we love going early when we’re up in the last with a Chorus or two of it’s a grand ol flag, to bring the boys home with. But some, MFC supporters around us will look at us like we’re insane, inviting defeat or embarrassing ourselves (all valid possibilities). Sometimes others join in, and it feels really good...

in as far as singing traditions to be established, this “the early singing of the club song” gets my vote.

thoughts?

Never ever too early IMO

But the best time to start is when the opposition  supporters start leaving for the early tram. They know when its a lost cause.

So take your que from them. You gotta love it!!

It would appear that Hutchy’s raising of this question has doomed the bell. That would make him figuratively the bell’s end.

  • PREGAME: Western Bulldogs

With only 3 games to go, all against Top 8 fancies, the Demons face a daunting task as they return to the MCG when they play the Western Bulldogs. Who comes in and who goes out?

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
