Well done Dees!

Full credit to the umps for trying everything they could to win it forFreo.

Gutsy win! Go dees! I'm just glad Schofield has to eat his words a bit.

I hope he lost all the money he had on freo

one of the worst commentary performances I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to!

Again nothing but pure guts from the girls. Their desire to win is fantastic. I hope the boys were watching this. Want to mention Kate Mcnamara in that last quarter. She gave it absolutely everything. The same could be said of pearce.

been refreshing the AFLW app following score , cooking dinner, feeding showering and bed timing kids . Said a dispassionate goodnight to the kids when Freo got up by 1 point, refreshed again and had to go back in for an extra kiss and cuddle, whispering them the final score. They smiled, said ‘go Dees’ and went straight to sleep!

WINNING

Schofield is a more ordinary commentator than he was player and that is saying something.

Great last ten minutes by Paxman.

Gay, what a beauty, Great mark, after smart play by Daisy when she was awarded a 50. Finished with a much needed goal (last score for the game) to put us back infront.

Back-line was good in that quarter, Tarrant, Birch and Colvin.

Mcnamara all day, running in the heat.

L. Peace, great endeavour all game. Also, took control of a stoppage with one minute go in the freo forward area.

She's my favourite player at the moment. Just so gutsy. Her chasing, second and third efforts are fantastic.

I think the boys could learn a lot from watching the last two games.

Very proud of them.

Gee they're a rough & tough side Freo, I hope we don't get them in a prelim over there. I wonder if we can steal a double chance, if there is such a thing in this 'make it up as you go along' season.

33 degrees, headed in the 4th quarter  and facing the normai %hitstoem reception of Deliverance town. One of the better wins in recent times by the Melbourne Football Club.

One of the worst I’ve heard. Possibly worse than a 5AA feed.

5AA had a great moment yesterday when James Rowe kicked a goal and his father was commentating.

I hope the girls reminded Roxy Roux what the score was at full time.

The girls are now jumping up and down on their bed singing Beastie Boys’ ‘Fight For Your Right’ at the top of their lungs.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
