Just got tickets for my family to brave Filth Park on Sunday. Looks like it’s selling out fast, only 1 zone left which I think is the Dees cheers squad end! So get on quick, those that are thinking of going...

Brisse have knocked the previously dominate freo in freo, need to win to stay in the finals pack.

Bulldogs looked good again today against the giants.  Turning into a very even comp for the top teams.

We need to win this one.  The addition of two of our top liners makes us much stronger.  Go Dees!

Lions and Freo was a very poor standard. Bulldogs 2nd qtr in particular very good. I didn't think they had it in them.

Agree its a wide open comp

Haven't been impressed with freo all season as I have previously posted. But they had kept on winning until today.  Hopefully our team has learnt from last week.

Big in's. Goldrick will steady the defence. No surprise Magee goes straight out again. She was all at sea last weekend.

Big test of character. Can we respond after last week's horror show. I think we will. Dees by 16.

Strong side 2 massive ins in Goldrick and Hore. I think we can bounce back.

Huge game.

A Melbourne v Coll game where the Pies are playing for top spot and we’re trying to get back into the top 6.

A beautiful day for footy.

I'm feeling a bit of pre-game hunt-kill-destroy rage but won't jinx it by making any predictions.

I'll focus on the fact that both Goldrick and Hore make the game more fun to watch as well as being top quality inclusions.

7 have decided Pies are winning so no point bothering.

Should’ve won last week’s game twice over. It’s smashed pie time.

They've got swagger, they've got synergy, they got a bit of sumthin' sumthin'.

why did zanker hand off to birch who then butchers the kick.

Structure dreadful the same as last week. Umps keen to find any infringement we do as well.

Following the men’s example. Millionaires or paupers. Nothing in between.

Our decision making is terrible so far.  C’mon girls.

mark it colvin.

worrying signs early. way off the pace at the moment.

Just need to walk away with as little damage as possible heading into the second because this is really ugly atm.

Let’s face it. They’ve been better in every facet so far.

Paxman vs Pies

Dreadful quarter. The only thing we achieved was the filth started to play worse footy by the end of the quarter, Still only 1 goal down.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
