Thanks.

The AFL website have quoted a bunch of practice matches around Feb 25 or 26.

I would say it’s almost certain this match won’t be tomorrow.

And crowds likely won’t be invited.

Prefer when they trained at Goschs. Casey might be better for the players but it is crap for us spectators. The MFC gives us noting on their site. Oh well I have been waiting 56 years so what is a few weeks.

I ventured out to Casey this afternoon and not even a dormouse was seen!

However the impression about a prac game today at Casey between Tigers and Dees gained any traction staggers me.

Clearly the dates of Feb 25 or 26 were listed ( and are still) so how come this mythical practice event warranted  even Comment that it got is also surprising.

It's  the same Bleating snd constant posting about Casey Fields training and lack of Club website reporting since Jan or even late 2020.

Access to Casey Fields is vital ( especially now with snakes around) but not one rep. From D/L has apparently to my knowledge spoken or contacted the Club  Ie CEO, or Footy  Dept about Possible access or importance of that role for our group to provide reports due to the tyranny of distance.

This in no way reflects on the varied and comprehensive contributions that we have greatly appreciated on occasions

We do tend to believe our posters and this practice match is a prime example. Did anyone ring the Club for verification??

Amazingly the doyen of our training reports of Previous years has either gone troppo or can't find his  pen Or car keys  to update Us. Has he retired? Can he approach the Club about ground access With his alleged contacts or has he retired? Or Is Casey below his dignity! Or is it so Covid related that the Council have ruled out restricted  and safe access totally!! BTW hope he is in good health.
We Are at times are our Own worst enemies believing the universe begins here and Are Often left with egg ( and mayonnaise) on our pens and faces to our detriment.
Back to the real D/L infoline or the hotline to the Club might be better value.

I'm pretty certain that Saty (I assume that's who you are referring to), doesn't drive a car, but apart from that, given the amount of flack he cops from others on this site, I can't say I'd blame him if he had retired his keyboard... I noticed in another topic on this board today, that he even comes under fire from certain posters for his non-footy related tweets.  People really should give it a rest!

Speculation this game could be played on Friday at Casey Fields according to the Richmond Bigfooty board.

No further details as yet.

Please MFC do a live stream!

and Melksham we currently have a second string forward line.

Maybe we can limit the intrigue. It's no secret when the games are being played since the AFL is posting the dates. Since we're the last mentioned we are probably playing on Sunday the 28th, venue to be disclosed:

Western Bulldogs v Hawthorn – Whitten Oval, Wednesday, February 24; Carlton v Essendon – Ikon Park, Thursday, February 25; North Melbourne v St Kilda – Arden Street Oval, Thursday, February 25; Geelong v Collingwood – GMHBA Stadium, Friday, February 26; Port Adelaide v Adelaide – Alberton Oval, TBC; Gold Coast v Brisbane – Metricon Stadium, TBC; Fremantle v West Coast – TBC; Greater Western Sydney v Sydney – TBC; Melbourne v Richmond – TBC.

Richmond are playing Collingwood on Friday 5 March so I doubt we'll be playing Richmond this weekend. Will be more likely Friday or Thursday.

Looks like all the TBC are on Friday, but the details are not known yet.

Have it on good authority it will be Friday at Casey. Closed session.

what's the logic there? the 5th of March is still 5-6 days away from a possible Saturday/sunday game and teams can play whichever players they want for any amount of game time for rest purposes so I don't think the logic is right in this instance.

Good enough for me. Hoping to hear more before then.

Given Richmond and Melbourne can choose whichever day they want to play, I doubt very much whether Richmond would voluntarily impose a 5--6 day break on themselves as opposed to giving themselves a proper 7 day break if they play this scratch match game on Friday.

I wonder if both clubs will kick up a fuss if they see people watching behind the fence?

And hopefully they'll do a stream of the game.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
