Would be great to have a single thread where those who feel they have an inside word on trade gossipĀ have a place to share itĀ free of argument or discussion etc. Sauces are great but not necessary. I get tired of constantly opening the individual player threads every day hoping for some news and it's just people bitching about Simon Goodwin and the credibility of other posters. Put it here and we can all just accept it or dismiss it and move on, even if it's in riddle-form. For the record I have zeroĀ links to the club whatsoever, but appreciate other posters who take the time to pass on what they've heard, whether it's credible or not.Ā

Hear that Oscar McDonaldĀ  and Alex Neal-Bullen areĀ beingĀ traded for Nat Fyfe along with future trade picks until 2025. Don't know if its credible orĀ notĀ .

Always happy to here the latest gossip. Get a bit sceptical though if an individual poster only hears negative info about the Dees.

Not so much now but we keep shooting ourselves in the foot. Media loves a disaster story and we have given them lots over the years. Funny because when I see a headline about us I immediately think oh what's wrong now!Ā

We have thrown in KK too. We will also receive Andrew Brayshaw as a sweetener!

Forty Eight threads on speculation, and I've just wasted another five minutes......

@YokozunaAny news?Ā

I am trying to find some.

Not anything specific at the moment, other than what we know already in regards to us chasingĀ a key forward and some more outside skill.

Doing due diligence on Ben Brown but seem keen (as we know).

COVID isnt helping me in finding more news at this stage.

I did suggest my source should go and tell the club that we should be chasing Whitfield!

Let's get real and breakdown mail from rumours.Ā

Out's

Preuss - GWS request, Player has requested. It has been suggested that his going price will beĀ a late 30's, early 40's pick

McDonald T - likely staying unless a good deal comes for him, Rumour only

ANB - trade bait but heard nothing specific, Rumour only

Hannan - WB interest,Ā Rumour only

Jetta - coll interest,Ā Rumour only

Ā

In's?

B Brown - apparently we are frontrunners. Some rumours suggesting that Collingwood are very interested and so is he.

I Smith - apparently likely to come. Reported that we have interest but so too do the Cat's.

T Phillips - no link to dees that ive heard. Damien Barrett stated that:Ā 'A left footed wingman.Ā That's what the Demons want, and two have the bait in front of them: Isaac Smith and Tom Phillips.'

N Hind - rumour. Agreed.

C Hooker - read that he could seek a move possibly toĀ Melbourne. First I've heard of it.

How could Collingwood who have to fit De Goey et al into the salary cap possibly pay Brown as well.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom CampbellĀ with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprenticeĀ Will VerrallĀ who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
