Go Dees-- footy is back in town

Just have a question for all you living in melbourne-- is the game live?

In sydney and brisbane the game is on delay-- start showing game at 11:30pm

By the time they broadcast the game is over and you have comments on the game here, wont you

I would like to watch b4 making a comment

Read an artical in the MX this evening (for thoes who live outside Melb CBD its a community paper). Just talking about afl players sheding weight so they can be quicker. There was a massive pic of Jonesy, who has lost 7 kilos but is stronger. I then came to the realisation that its this week. Been too long. Making a day of it...skipping uni and going to pub with a saint supporter and then game then celebrations...or at least for one of us after. Very pumped.

And no the games not live in Melb. 1 hour delayed broadcast on 7 (I think but may be wrong). SEN, Tripple M and ABC are breadcasting on radio.

On the net it says the game is on from 8:30 on channel 7... As live as it has been in recent years.

This is it. The big time. Season opener, Friday night football, 2006 finalists, one list of generation now, one list of generation next.

MFC can hit the big time again. Smash the highly rated Saints, on the first match of the year that EVERYONE will be watching and they'll stand up and take notice.

The demons of today are no longer soft, no longer incompetent. Now is the time to follow this club.

I'll be there. For MFC. For Neitz. For demontime.

11 30 here as well got a concert that night so get back in time to see the game:)

11.00 here in Syd. Despite the fact FOXTEL yelling to the world it was a live broadcast... Looks like a late night for me. At least the data projector looks it's best at night.

Ah well better than not at all I guess. GO DEES!!!!!

Damn you all! I am excited as ever but am incredibly disappointed...

My better half's family has an engagement party down in Taz so we have been shouted a trip down for the weekend all expenses paid... however some inconsiderate soul has booked our plane tickets to leave at 8pm Friday!!!

My seats will be empty and to make matters worse no tv and no radio!

Cruel fate why do you mock me.

I'll put up a cardboard cut-out of your Avatar on your seat. You'll be there in spirit.

I wouldn't go.

Season opener is way more important than an engagement party.

At worst, your better half won't talk to you for a month, but its all worth it ;)

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
