Membership Renewal emails from the club...

Good luck getting a response from the club. They don't reply to emails.

Firstly, that is quite different to my experience.  Two weeks ago, I sent the club an email to remove my automatic renewal payments (2 Redleg memberships).  I received the standard 'thank you, we will be in touch with you in the next few days' email back.

Sure enough, Tracey in the membership department, phoned to advise it was removed and we discussed my membership intentions. As I have not received the auto renewal advice others in this thread have mentioned, I know Tracey did as she said.

I cannot recall an email I've sent over the last 3 or 4 years that hasn't been responded to by email or phone.

Secondly, during the discussion she said every email or a summary is sent to Pert (and I think she said Bartlett also) and she works closely and meets regularly with Pert's P.A and at times Pert himself.  I am very confident that is not a 'company line' as Tracey and I have chatted over the years about memberships, finals tickets, reserved seats etc and I have full confidence and trust in her.

Its unfortunate your experience has been quite different but give them another chance.  These are challenging times.

Thanks mate. Very excited to get a new Demon in this world. We need all the little Demons we can get. ;)

I've got a 7 and a 5 year old and sometimes I just question whether I am setting them up for a life of disappointment ?

Both have been members since birth though

Spot on LH with one exception I have found them to be on the ball. However I think we should cut them a little slack as their numbers are reduced and people are not working every day. Me included There are too many of us that think everything is about me!  Have a little sympathy and understanding everyone.

Yes you are Dr. But we can only try, don’t be surprised if they choose another team in the next few years, only regularly playing finals games will keep them in the fold, from my experience you have three years or one of two things will happen. They will either choose / stay with a team that are winners or Lose them from game completely.

Don't know about that, my 3 grandsons have all stayed as supporters, their ages vary between 12 and 18 and I know of quite a few families where the kids and grandkids haven't strayed.

So they're no longer part of the family, OD?

Well I always figure that the best you could do for your children was for them make their own decisions and then own the decision. Which is fine until they make ones you dont like.

I have a Country membership, so not a lot of money involved, no seat guarantee and no finals guarantee either.

2020 was a donation, I understand that, but I will not be renewing, until I know what games I can see  in person or on my big screen. And what the timetable etc. is for 2021. Perhaps a big win today might help but I doubt it. The two games we lost recently, we just should not have lost. Extremely poor management somewhere.

Good Luck to us today,       Fuchias or the Demons ?  I have no idea.

I got the email saying my 2021 membership would be direct debited, to which I responded that I would not like that to happen and to get a callback. They called me up and I was busy with work so I requested a call the next day. They never called and now I get an email today  -

Unfortunately, we have been unable to process your upfront Easy Pay membership payment.

Pretty bloody poor form by the club. It's not an insignificant amount of money i give them and to automatically try the direct debit again after I requested not to is pathetic. If it had gone through (credit card they had on file was cancelled luckily), i'd be even more annoyed.

This sounds like you should have followed them up. If you asked for a call back and weren't free for the call back, it's beholden on you to call them back IMO.

Nah, they said they would call me back. Its on them.

Secondly I disagreed to the direct debit and they still proceeded.

Do you want to be a member in 2021?

I do. But i am holding out as long as possible to see what happens with the season. I felt pretty ripped off in 2020 having paid for a reserved seat and still having to pay for kayo to watch games. The club treated members very poorly this year.

Sure, they were wrong to attempt to charge for the membership if you had already made it clear to them that you didn't want the debit to proceed.  However, on the call back, it seems that they kept their part of the bargain and did call you back; it was just unfortunate that you weren't able to take the call.

I had a similar issue where they were meant to call me back with further info regarding the GF guarantee being included with the membership charge, despite being informed in June that this year's GF guarantee payment would be credited to next year. After waiting a few days, and as it was getting close to the day that the direct debit would occur, I swallowed my pride, called them back and got everything sorted to my satisfaction.

You need to understand that they are probably understaffed and having to deal with many many such queries as ours... in which case, things such as call backs do slip between the cracks; they are human after all.

That is I guess according to your view. I don’t feel ripped off. Sadly the MFC is a small club with limited resources compared to tigers or pies. We are trying to stay viable in a difficult virus world. The old normals don’t apply. I Have for 20 years now considered my membership a charitable donation with the benefit of enter to a few games every year. Hope for good results every year but really don’t expect much more. That way I stay sane.

I renewed MFC/MCC in August

I don’t get all the angst, nobody was prepared for Covid, it just swept through.

With 0 Cases now for a week in November, crowds will be back next year (possibly capped)

Chill out. The MFC need $$$’s to pay bills like anyone else

My experience is the reverse.

My brother and his wife had six children all of whom were Melbourne supporters. however  at one stage one of his daughters announced that she was transferring her allegiances to Richmond. My brother replied well every week we go to the football to follow Melbourne and you can come along once or twice a year when Richmond play Melbourne , she reconsidered her loyalties.

After sustaining a torn ACL in the final match of the 2023 season Jake added a bit to the attack late in the 2024 season upon his return. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
