I'm not optimistic about us winning our last two at all. I'm barely optimistic about us winning even one of them.

But, if we do win our last two, Carlton won't be passing us.

The pessimistic outlook would suggest this: we lose our last two, Carlton beats Adelaide, Fremantle beats North, and we end up 13th.

Realistically I'd say we win 1 of 2 but that doesn't mean much. We have GWS and Essendon and the Blues have Adelaide and Bris so they are both interesting runs home.

Just annoying seeing Carlton win to be honest, in general.

Well done Lewis Taylor you fat moron. Missed dead in front from 30m out after milking a free.

Blatant staging.

pushed his head into Cripps arms. Terrible decision by the ump too

On our pre-Sydney form, we should win both.

On our Sydney/Fremantle form, we will lose both.

Yep it was a terrible free and if it happened to us Demonland would have exploded if he'd kicked the goal.

That was Sydney's only score from the 3 minute mark of the third quarter onwards.

Losing to them last week is an absolute disgrace.

Very much so & damning on both Coach & players

Carlton may just have saved Goodwins neck last night, well that is if there is any fight left in the team for the last two games.

Hi Old Dee,

I can't work out how Carlton winning is favourable to Goodwin/MFC... elaborate?

Well potentially we could still sneak into the eight. Long shot but still possible. If we make finals Goodwin will survive for 2021.

Yes I understand this but Carlton beating Sydney has no bearing on our chances...looking at the ladder, no?

Got it. The dogs beating West Coast has almost cancelled that GWS result out unfortunately, doggies are in the box seat now with an easy run home. The only hope we have is if Freo produce an upset over them in the last round OR us win our last two comfortably, StKilda lose their last two comfortably and we catch them on %. Either way, I don't like our chances.

I would almost prefer to miss and the blowtorch be stronger on Goodwin.

How good was Sam Walsh. 20 yo and 2nd year. Dragged his team back. Fantastic 2nd quarter with 10 possessions 4 marks 3 tackles and a goal to make it a contest.

Oversll disposals at 85% efficiency. 480 metres gained.  That’s what we need. A player with class. Have not had such a midfielder with class and elite skills since Flower in 70s and 80s.

Don't disagree with any of that but it has us getting one last gasp of air RF. I seriously doubt it will happen but as the result all year  show it is the most unpredictable season ever.

I also wouldn't dismiss the Hawks either... they are due for a win. Had a shocking loss to Adelaide, but nearly beat Saints, Essendon, and Port. Their last win was in Round 9 against Carlton. Could be another upset looming!

Agreed. The best coach of the last 20 years won't stand for it.

The big knock on Walsh all year has been his kicking. Turns it over so much (he had two chances to give Carlton a shot to beat us in Round 2, for one example).

In saying that, apparently he hasn't missed a game since he debuted in Round 1 last year. Great effort for a 19-year old. Justifying being picked number 1.

He's their most complete midfielder in my opinion, even moreso than Cripps. Think the knock on his disposal is a bit exaggerated. The level of consistency he's been able to display at 19 has been pretty special.

I can't either. IMO the Blues are a poorish team as shown by their appalling 2nd half against the Pies. So they get up and beat the Swans in a huge comeback and just emphasise how winnable the Swans game should have been and exacerbates Goodwins inablility o get the team up for crunch games when they revert to type.

Amazing, I've heard people get old seat belt buckles to have permanently in the holder so the warning sounds stay off but didn't didn't think it would be an AFL footballer.

Wouldn't you be better off just wearing your seatbelt to keep the warning sounds off?
