Good while it lasted. Dogs just way too quick and our gameplan too one dimensional. you just knew after they interview Beveridge at half time that they would change things up.

Every single time they get it out of our forward line they have 2-3 players lining up.

If you can get loose across half back vs Melbourne = you win. Typically means you're fast enough to get space which means you're fast enough to transition.

May and Lever saved us today from a real belting.

Why do our defenders all run to the contest and leave Wallis unattended time after time?````````

Whenever we lose, you notice Fritsch missing regularly. Just for the record.

Sparrows done a shoulder.... Weid refuses to play in front.  We just dont know how to bottle a match up when the opp gets a run on and our forward  half pressure is non existent.

Pickett, T-Mac & Spargo have been bog ordinary so far.  If you cant get the pill as a small forwars as a bare minimum you must force the odd turnover.

Dog player handballs it over the line...no one from Melbourne remonstrated....no deliberate.  Such an amateur club with the little things and no voice of leadership on the park

They always have 4,5,6 players around the ball.

Predictable at game not over clearly have scoring end in last qtr

Goodwin is so crap. send someone to bontempelli ffs. we clearly haven't addressed any of the defensive accountability stuff.

If I see one more touched off the boot... JESUS!   Kids stuff!

Far out we need this Melksham.

Only shows up around Junk time.

He's a liability

We are getting the ball in the wrong spots. Always on a tight angle. Beveridge coached well to force us off centre.

And 4, 5, 6 out in space. They are well drilled, we aren’t. If plan A ain’t working we don’t know what to do

Inside 50 count is 6-10.

In OUR favour.

They've kicked 5 goals.

Two reasons: midfield being thrashed by theirs, and Beveridge coaching smartly with the switches.

Our forward line is absolutely pathetic today. No pressure and couldn’t hit the side of a barn

Melksham has been disgusting.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
