Despite playing for a boring/tedious club for several years before joining the mighty fighting Demons (Adelaide Crows), Bernie quickly became my favourite MFC player.

He also became my little boy’s favourite player. (Henry’s favourite player is now our number 5, which I have endorsed, fyi.)

This said, I just watched a promo for the Bounce with the usual tools on Foxtel and Bernie was proudly sporting an Adelaide Crows guernsey.

I had thought he was still involved with the MFC and was passionate about the club.

What’s the lay of the land here? If he’s no longer a Dee, I need to know. I’ve got a young human here who needs to know who to trust and in whom he can invest his beating heart.

In fact, so do I.

Feedback is appreciated.

He's not involved anymore in any capacity.

Iam not a regular watcher but I've seen him on there with the half dees n crows top.

Unsure what he's wearing atm.

Shurley you can still appreciate the man with out being upset that he's an SA boy at heart?

Believe he was a part time coach last year but is no longer involved at the club.

Spent majority of his career at Adelaide, grew up a Crows support and is an SA boy. His best mates and family are in SA. Hardly surprising he represents Crows now he’s no longer involved at our club.

Still love him as a larakin type bloke who just loves footy.

If it was for a promo, I would suggest he was wearing it to attract the Adelaide viewers.

Oh no, Bernie, say it ain't so!

Loved Bernie when he was a Demon and recon he is still the same top bloke, but that show Bounce just doesn't suit him.

I thought bounce was once a decient show in it's first few seasons, but it has become such formulaic rubbish that I never bother to watch it these days.

Bernie came across as a fair dinkum larikin, but Bounce is just cheep plastic crap.

He isstill living Melb and it was half half jumper!
Don't  fret

Look closer Ronald. It’s a half half guernsey. Your Bernie love is still safe.

Yeah it's probably that stupid segment where they wear the clubs they played for and if it was multiple clubs they make a multi jumper. I remember they somehow mashed a St Kilda, Sydney and Bulldogs jumper together for Barry Hall a few years back.

Shocking show, admittedly I do occasionally watch it when I feel like a brain dead Sunday night laugh but for the most part it's pure bogwash.

Okay - I’m cool with that.

It’s all calm in the farm once again.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
