4 day break, including travelling from Adelaide to Tassie, sucks. But gotta do what we gotta do, and I'd be disappointed if we didn't win both games

It’s a sick joke that we’ve just moved from Sydney to Queensland then we need to go to Adelaide and Tassie on the short break. Really this draw has been awful for us.

I want to see how many other teams are traveling over their very short breaks.

So we play the 3 best teams in the competition as well as North in [censored] Tassie again off a 4 day break. Adelaide we should win. Still that’s frightening.

If we can win 1 of Brisbane or Port, we will be in great shape to make a run in the second half of the season.

This is where having a full list to chose from will  play a massive part, teams with long injury lists will struggle and hit the wall pretty quickly

Going to make it all the more sweeter when we win all four on our march to a flag...

No use whinging about the travel, everyone's fixture is a mess.

I've checked Collingwood, who are the supposed big club darlings of the AFL.

- Sunday vs Fremantle in Perth

- Thursday vs Sydney in Brisbane

- Tuesday vs Adelaide in Adelaide

- Saturday vs Melbourne in Brisbane

That's 4 games in the space of 13 days w/ lots of travel.

From a super quick look it seems most teams are traveling A LOT.

It’s ridiculous that both North and the Dees are staying at the same complex at Maroochydore and are playing against each other in Tassie FFS?

I think we have done ok here.  Nth play the Wednesday also before we play them and I’d much rather play Adelaide in Adelaide as opposed to Port in Adelaide.   Port and Pies on the smaller Gabba ground will hopefully suit us.

I think the run home will then be Saints, Dogs, Freo and Giants all in Qld

..... and I forgot the dirty Bombers!

We have been shafted again, time for the Dees to stick it up em and go 5 from 5.

Geez. That's a 'mare of a schedule. Adelaide and North designated our home games but at their home grounds ?? What a stitch up. I thought the Queensland sides were told that they would be playing in Tasmania as it's probably the only time they'd have to leave their own state for the rest of the season ?

Does seem an odd one but at least it’s both travelling on the same amount of days break.

Tom Morris reporting clubs will have max three 4 day breaks.

Hopefully this is 2 of ours out of the way.

They are North and Adelaide’s home games

Coming up against Norf off a 4 day break (they will be coming off their ‘bye’) + 3 states in about 7 days. Not ideal. We need that 4 points - a lot of annoying headwinds make it less bankable now. Ah well.

edit. Got this wrong. Thought Norf has the bye when we play Adelaide but they don’t.

North play 4 days before as well. Geelong at the Gabba.

Yep just noticed that then. Thought they were absent from the previous round on first glance

Carlton not travelling at all. Head to Perth after this weekend then sit over there whole time, with a bye to boot.

Downside for them I suppose is playing WC/Freo over there in front of a crowd

We can't really say the fixture has been particularly kind to us this year, I feel like we've been a bit more mucked around than most (with the Essendon debacle). But it actually does appear that most clubs fixtures are a mess. I knew we were going to be sent to Tassie against North, just a feeling in my gut. Of course they would never send Richmond, Geelong, Collingwood, or Essendon.

On a positive side it actually appears that the GABBA has almost become our defacto "home" which is good for a couple of reasons. Firstly it's close to our base in Maroochydore so we aren't going to be traveling a couple of hours to GC on a bus. Secondly if (as it appears) the finals could be based up in QLD then this is giving us experience on the home ground of potentially one of the main finals contenders.

Round 10 and 11 are simply must wins. Work your magic Darren!

Ah, you're right D11. I just saw that we were named first in the schedule on one of the posts above and automatically thought we were the home side.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
