Honestly, just being able to watch the team play on TV this season is a bonus. Where the games are do not really matter.

geee wwwiiizz the 10 people working at AFLHQ must be knackered by trying to keep this ship a floating.

Good for those of us living in Sydney, we may be the only people at the Saints/Kangas game. As for the other games they may be harder to get into with only 10,000 seats but will remind me of the early years of the swans up here.

I'm glad we are not playing the Saints any time soon.  they are in good form

ditto GC.

I guess we will be up in QLD in ~4-5 weeks time after NSW?

Gold Coast in Sydney next week, Hawthorn the week after. Both at Giants Stadium.

[censored] late Sunday games are the pits! They ruin my weekends, waiting for the game all smug after seeing sides lose only for us to torment me with a loss!

Giants Stadium!

Damn I can walk to the SCG, still its not a bad place to watch a low attendance match its still just like a big country ground.

Melbourne v Gold Coast, Giants Stadium, 6.05pm AEST

is this a misprint? who plays at 6pm on a Sat night?

So does this mean Rounds 8 and 9 will be vs GWS and Sydney? Surely, if so, both will be away games.

That will mean that after Round 9, we'll have had 2 home games and 6 away games.

Meaning that we'll need to have at least 6 home games somewhere else to come. Presumably will have to be in NSW against other sides to join us, or in another state.

At least that Hawthorn game should be on FTA for us. Which is inexplicable given how we're playing.

Sensible move, which is within a bee’s appendage of being too late. The only alternative is to abandon the season; to have waited any longer would have meant the inevitable marooning of the Victorian clubs in Victoria. This way, they get out while they still can.

GF should be played at the home ground of the highest ranking team. Hopefully that becomes a lasting change, in the era of a supposedly national competition, there is no reason for the MCG to have dibs on every grand final and this is proof.

That’s to cater for the WC v Adelaide game which starts at 3:20pm.

Pretty sure home games have been thrown out the window. The AFL just wants games played for $.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
