When Glenn played well, more often we won. Well thats my memory !

his efforts not respected enough IMO

Lovett another of those mid-90s perennially injured players that cost us the chance at a flag. Schwarz, Lyon, Tingay, Lovett, Prymke, Charles - I'm sure there's more. With Lovett it was back-related hamstring issues from memory?

As far as the poll goes Farmer by a mile. The most consistently explosive player I've seen in the red and blue next to Jakovich. His 98 finals series (including round 22 against the Tigers) and 2000 season were something to behold. 76 goals would have to be one of the best returns for a small forward in the modern era, if not ever.

In the 90's,  we had so many back injuries that were hamstring related.

Circumstantial evidence suggests its Club related poor management again.

Peter Moore also.  He had a back injury from pre season training.

Moore had a history of hamstring injuries from his time at Collingwood.  He foolishly played the 1981 GF with a hamstring injury sustained the week before. Management at Melbourne had nothing to do with his history of injuries.

Voted for farmer but glenn lovett was one of the most talented demon players I have seen. Hamstring curses again.

I think Eddie Betts kicked 75 in 2016 or 2017 and Milne kicked 70 odd in made 2011, so it stands up definitely.

Yeah I was thinking Matthews and Bartlett the only two who came to mind. I'm sure there's probably more, but it's a hell of an achievement. Betts is more so considering players don't top the ton anymore.

Sentimental place for Lovett, as already bene said, injuries.  I remember hearing he loved the Dee's and flower so much he insisted that he attend the same high school as Flower (Which he did). :)  The man was red and blue to the core....  Whereas Farmer isn't.

Yep,  sorry,  it was his Quad muscle he did at training.  At camp,  I believe.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
