Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Can anyone help identify any of these players?

Definately Cameron Schwab he was the most arrogant person who I have ever met lived of his fathers reputation and Ray Manley was always listening to the races on match day updating the players on the results as they came to the bench. He had a good reputation but was a total idiot and was one of the reasons the MFC crashed during his tenure as the Secretary of the MFC for the MCC.

The player is possibly Scott Sutcliffe. He wore number 44

I think you’re right, Mr Lord.

I was a real fan of Scot’s.

Exquisite talent, I thought, but he seemed to disappear.  ? Injury?

Tasmanian, I think.

Oh Gawd why did you have to bring up his name??

His Miss in the 87 Preliminary Final was possibly the worse miss in the History of the game!!

Just when I was erasing it from my memory !!?

He was a fair way out to be fair, I think it was 2 metres.

That’s wrong about Eishold.

I think all his critics are like my mates who say they never watch replays of losses.

Eishold marked the ball on the sideline of the square about 4 meters out.

Umpire David Howlett, who had been influenced in his decisions all day by the experienced Hawthorn players, ran in from 60 m away , and decided he marked it about half a metre out, so put him on an acute angle.  It should have been an absolute “gimme”,but Howlett made it a very difficult shot. No wonder Eishold was nervous , when he had about a 1 metre target to thread it through.

Eishold had an excellent kicking technique, and had shown himself previously to be an accurate shot for goal.

I can recall that, years later, Eishold revealed that the occasion got to him and that his legs turned to jelly.

Any suggestion that it was a tough shot is ludicrous.  There are no excuses for his terrible miss from so close.

Good one.....lets tear threads off another player!

Tough shot, tough circumstances & I wonder how you would go put in the same position......any suggestions that it was an easy shot shows your lack of knowledge & ignorance.

He was a great player for the Dees who could read the play exceptionally well whilst bringing others into the game.

Crikey Old Goat, you accuse me of a lack of knowledge then go on to describe Eishold as "a great player".

He wasn't great, he was a foot soldier and no better than average.  That shot wasn't tough, especially for a "great" player.

We have a different opinion.  C'est la vie.  I would have slotted it, since you ask! ?

Fair enough old boy but I liked him & the way he went about it......82 games & 50 goals....not bad & during a time when it was difficult to get a game for the dees during our resurgence....& I reckon unless your put in that same situation, then none of us know really how hard it would be......

Gees you must have been good in your day.....?

I was there he was snowed by the Hawthorne players and did not go back far enough and he did not compose himself like some players like Lloyd did. He did not lose the game the problem was every player wanted to be a hero like Yeats and others who were running towards goal and Robert Flower was alone in the goal square and a simple handball or kick would have resulted in a goal even though Robert had hurt his shoulder he would have done the job.

It was just one of those days.....our boys were young & inexperienced.

Kicked with the wind for 3 quarters, missed crucial goals, injuries to key players & we were still in front went the siren went.

Never seen so many grown people cry.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
