Kane Cornes' 2020 Top 8 Predictions

I have to admit I love how Kane goes about it. Yes he can be a pain in the [censored] but he cops it right back. Love him or hate him, at least you will get an honest opinion from him.

You'll get an opinion out of him, but I suspect it's not always his honest opinion.  It's an opinion he knows will be click-bait and create the most attention.

Didn't take him long to get over us being 'pre-season champions' due to the documentary we've put together.

He flip-flops more than a politician does.

For an SEN website story there's not nearly enough wacky predictions. You're supposed to say Gold Coast will finish fifth and Collingwood 14th to make sure everyone furiously clicks through and Hutchy gets the ad revenue. Back to Clickbait College for Kane.

I agree with him about Brisbane, I predict they will have a tough year. No hodge, a young team will struggle with expectations.

I always think the Cats will struggle but they finished top last year so who knows.

Sydney have zero chance of top 8, not sure where he is coming from on this one.

Only if clubs start learning how to beat them down at GMHBA stadium.

The home ground advantage to Geelong is overrated.

They've had a very good team over the last decade and that coincides with their winning record.

No surprise there.

They also didn't play the bigger clubs there.

...and the talk of them not winning finals at the 'G' is also an overreaction by the experts.

They've been good enough to get into finals but have been on a slow decline for a while now.

It never hurt their premiership teams, they won anywhere.

Now with Geelong in decline Kardinia Park will no longer be a bogey ground for opposition.

I hope you're right,

It just seems that every time we play down there it's a complete disaster.

We either lose by 80 + points, or get knocked off after the siren.

(Yeah yeah, I know it's only one example... )

Look away Dees fans Kane Cornes has tipped us to make the 8.

? Kane Cornes has made his top eight predictions and premiership tip for the 2020 season! ?

FULL PREDICTIONS

1. West Coast

2. GWS

3. Richmond

4. Western Bulldogs

5. Melbourne

6. Collingwood

7. Port Adelaide

8. Sydney

interestingly this is in line with historical trends with around 3 changes to the Final 8 each season. Based on his commentary and effusive praise of Melb this morning I think he is clearly  Believer.

Not just you. Tries so hard to sound intelligent but just come off as over-analyzing and petty.

Exactly right! Couldn’t have said it better.

Geelong, great home & away team, poor finals team.

Not sure if it’s just me but I find Dal Santo adds nothing to my footy knowledge and is boring as bat poo.

I call him Splinters. Always sitting on the fence and predicting a no change to the 8 regardless of historical trends is an example.

Cornes has admitted he was wrong on a number of occasions and is aggressively opinionated which is more than most in the media. Doesn't' see himself as part of the club like Dal Santo.

I see Kane is still stealing oxygen from everyday Australian's. Didn't he say we were getting ahead of ourselves a couple of weeks ago?

Over a greater period of that time we were also the worst team in the comp.

Things will change 'Bring-Back', have some faith mate.

It's not just you 'Nelo'.

I put him with the vacuous Cooney.

You could sit and listen to both them for hours on end if you had time to waste and absolutely add nothing to your footy knowledge.

I choose to turn both off.

Must be buying the beers when Hutchy is around, can't think of how else they get a gig...

Normally I get a headache reading anything Kane says but I like that he shares my views on the so-called "leadership groups".

They are complete rubbish. Real leaders lead without being told they are a leader. No leadership group means that at any given point, on any given day, anyone can be the leader we need. I love it.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
