they have declared a state of emergency in LA, enabling a bunch of health government things be done.

and nba teams have been asked to plan for playing games with empty stadiums!

the virus is coming for all communities, stay well everyone.

For what it's worth someone I know has just flown into Norway from England to do some cross country skiing. The small village she's staying in has 5 people with Covid-19 and another 15 people in quarantine. She got talking to someone who's relative is one of the five with the virus but who shows none of the obvious symptoms of it. The reality is that we're probably now beyond containment so anyone with a low immune system or who is elderly should probably try and adjust their lifestyles until a vaccine has passed all clinical trials and is on the market. Everyone else needs to stop losing their [censored] over this.

I honestly think we've started to regress as a race Demonstone. This outbreak of idiocy is spreading far quicker than any virus.

Italy went from 20 confirmed cases to 233 dead in fifteen days.

16 million people are now in heavy quarantine.   This virus is worse than anything since small pox and possibly worse than the spanish flu.

Australia is not doing enough now and we will end up like Italy with mass hard quarantines

What do you think Aus should be doing?

There's now no stopping coronavirus spreading, and every expert knows it.

What's left now is to attempt to slow the spread (eg. isolation/self-quarantine) so that the healthcare system isn't inundated with all the cases at once. This needs to be balanced against still having people going about their daily activities, so society doesn't fall apart (which includes health professionals rocking up to work, drivers delivering food and other products, emergency services available when called upon, etc).

Correct. It is a very strong Flu Strain

Those who are sick must not go to work for a start (Don’t Soldier on with a Codral, with this baby)

The Japanese Government should be held accountable for letting all those passengers off the cruise ship who were not secondary tested, and all went home on Public Transport

The Chinese knew about this in Early December, but told the initial Doctor to be quiet and go back to work

He died doing his job

The Virus is out now....

Seems that what is driving people really crazy is that the main things we each as individuals can do are all just the same things we keep being told every year ahead of regular flu season.  Proper, regular, hand washing, coughing/sneezing into the crook of your elbow, keeping a little bit of distance from people who are ill, trying to minimise how much you share you workstation, pushing buttons/opening doors with your wrist or where practical, keeping the space arou you clean, espcially all those frequent-touch places, taking a bit of time off if you are sick (which kind of sucks for casuals who might not be able to pay rent, but I'm sure a sensible simple solution will be put in place to soften that blow without it becoming an ideological crapshow...).

Also, try not to spit in each other's face for a while.  I know, habits are hard to break.

But seriously, if people just do the basics without waiting to find out if they specifically are at risk, it dramatically reduces the spread rate and dramatically increases the chances of being able to track and contain any given chain of illness.

Also, try to reduce your contact with repressive totalitarian regimes or medieval theocracies.  #lifetip

I believe they postponed Expo West due to pressure being put on them from exhibitors and large suppliers (e.g. Well Well). There are certainly concerns, but perception and pandemonium  rule. There's a lot of food and beverage handling and tasting at that show, so that may well be the worry. My missus was there but came back the moment it was called off, more out of fear of not being able to get a seat home than the virus.

Agree that the Disneyland situation is odd. Perhaps at Disney the greenback rules over everything else.

Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
