Favorite episode yet. That was great.

Very interesting that Gawn and Jetta came to Goodwin’s house for the new player induction but Viney didn’t.

A very good point. Jetta is just the best mentor around and a relative (correct me if wrong) of the Picket clan. max is very personable and his story and 6 years for the penny to drop was pertinent. maybe Viney is just too full on or max & new had a specific message to share.

Both Nev and Max had done what Goodwin was trying to instill in the Kids.
living proof and one of them is now Captain

To witness the lengths this collective unit want to go to in order to make our club successful goes a long way to strengthening the connection between club and supporters I think. It might be my 'go to' piece of footage if I find doubt creeping in at any point during the season and am in need of a pick me up.

Hope they keep doing this during the season, would be fantastic to watch.

I agree, it will be a good pick me up, fingers crossed we can make 2020 a great year.?

If they changed the name it would be getting the acclaim right through the AFL media that it deserves.

Sorry CB it's on the AFL website in a prominent position not far from Maxy's Captaincy announcement.

Fies Gill or Shocking have to promote it ?

Thats our job and the Club's!!!

Great episode. Is Shannon Byrnes still with the club in some capacity? Looked like him @ 7:35 during the new player segment at Goodwin's house.

I saw him and his family at the family day yesterday, but he wasn’t in club gear. Maybe he’s contracting in for specific things but isn’t staff. Or maybe he just didn’t have formal duties.

That is simply one of the best bits of non match day, Demon vision, I have ever seen.

The bit where Kossie is helped by his team mates to finish a tough drill is just magnificent.

How can you not get excited about our future?

In 2019 Shannon was in charge of the new player welfare but I am not sure of what his exact title was in 2019.

HB was even more emotional when he got off the phone after his invitation to train. He is entirely invested in doing the very best for his family and the Club. I loved the support he is getting from Stephen May.

Obviously the way the players got around Kossie was the other high point. It reminds me of how Richmond players are said to have that bond. How would Kossie have felt knowing that they were there urging him on and getting down on the sand with him so that he could be the very best that he could be. For a first year player that surely is something that will remain with him and hopefully become an integral part of his journey with the Club.

Shannon Byrnes works in player welfare along with Matty Whelan

@Sir Why You Little  produced in house, if it was commercially produced we would have a sham marriage, whilst renovating a kitchen, then cooking a meal on an island, I asked, Gary Pert very proud of it

Johnny is giving the boys 'battle' training, he gets them to do [censored] I did 40 odd  years ago

He has one drill wherr the players have to forward or backward roll 4 times, then jump up and tackle a player

I suggested he tries what we did which was rolls and then hit a post, in sand, wrapped around with sandbags, you had to make the post move, or you had to do it again

He was all for it, but the spoilsport Ben Mathews said no ???

Yes i know it is an in house production, but the person directing this production has outside experience, that’s why it is flowing so well. I will be interested to see who it is when the credits roll.

Cooking a meal on an island ? ???

WTF does that all mean ?

Personal attack, thought the humour may be a bit much for you, seeing that you have had yours removed, again much as you would like it to be, it was all in house

Ever thought the media team is recruited from outside?

Directing a film with amateurs  is easy, point and shoot,  they are just being themselves, it is the editing that matters, so the flow is seamless or seems that way

Wow. I get a lecture on Video Editing now

32 Years editing at Ripponlea and Southbank

Directing a film is easy, just point and shoot... Right ok ?

Yes the Media Team is recruited from outside, that’s why i made the original comment  I may well know their work

I will wait for the credit roll...

This whole series is a disgrace and not what the supporters want..... just ask Kane Cornes (will be man enough to admit he was wrong - doubt it)

Kane has said he loves it...made great viewing.

I'm not sure he admitted outright to being wrong but he thinks it's a great insight.

Pity he want off half c...ed before seeing an episode.

Not a lecture, practical experience both on film and video, that's why I get good action shots at training, just can't be arsed wasting money on a camera

I have had a bit of practical experience making films and TV shows to.

There’s a lot more to it than you currently know.
Ever been in an edit suite for 24 hours when a show “isn’t working” and it has to be finished at midday. Directors and producers ready to punch on, because each can’t agree on a certain sequence?

But they have to decide...and they know it

Post Production is a tough gig and the MFC doco has been meticulously planned i have no doubt...

Really enjoying the series. The last episode was the best yet. Great insight into what this club is doing. We are so far ahead of last year and we’ve really got the right people into the club. Loved watching the boys get around Kozzy and get him through it.

Couldn’t get the grin off my face watching that. Man, I really hope Harley runs onto the ground in the red and blue this year. I almost don’t care what happens after that. It clearly means more to him than we could ever truly understand.

And just watching them go so hard at it; I honestly don’t know what more a team can do. If success doesn’t come to the club this year, you cannot say that it was due to a lack of effort and commitment going into the season.

Even though they have no idea who I am and never will, I’m extremely proud of my boys after watching that.

Tackle-coach-psycho-guy doesn’t mind saying [censored] and [censored] a lot.

This guy totally reminds me of Leopold from The Simpsons. He's a walking bloody cliche. Quite hilarious.

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late.
