Thats good to hear.   Hopefully the playing/training surface is just as moist.    We need softer conditions that last years concrete.

Concrete might not burn, and may be easy to run on, but its just not great for the bodies limbs and back.

It is interesting that the sprinklers go on before Melbourne Victory train, so the ground is soft and the grass wet. I have only been to a few soccer matches and they have had the sprinklers on before the game each time. Not sure what that is about.

It use to be that T Mac was a shoe-in to win the time trial, and he was well renound for his endurance as one of the few that could run with Nick Riewodlt in his prime.  But in recent years T Mac had come back into the field at the MFC a bit.

I suspect last year injury  played a big part, but is it the case that ANB and others have lifted the bar or is T Mac staring to drop away a bit, or perhaps a bit of both? Interested in people's thoughts.

Its makes the grass slick and makes for more fluent passing, with the ball pinging along the ground with less friction.  Usually teams with a mentality to play passing soccer along the ground and not long balls to a big striker will water the surface a little bit leading up to a game or training.

Thanks for the reports. Worrying that May was not running with the main group.  He's one of our most important players and I think our 2020 fortunes are tied to his performance.

Jordan lewis on SEN late afternoon was asked about Smith and stated that he had a cut on his foot that kept him off the track today.

I reckon if you train in softer conditions than the grass you play on,  the legs will be stronger.  and less jarred.?

When going onto match day surfaces,  I think we would run on-top of the ground more.?

Can any watchers elaborate,  How is the ground at Gosch's this year.?   Is the surface soft enough,  compared to the apparent concrete surface of last year.?

Does is look in better 'nick',  Re greenness,  and IF someone  could check with a key or similar,  to see if there's enough moisture content,  to protect the boys feet and joints.?

All pitches at Goschs are sand based, they have to be, it is solid rock underneath

Was that the finishing order and if so has OMac previously done that well?

I think some of the training reports(which are very good)create more questions than give answers. i.e whats wrong with May ,why is Jones in rehab etc

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
