My mail is that KK is on ice for 2020.

shame for the lad.

Not sure many people actually believed that Doctors had miraculously discovered  the cause of his problems and it could now be managed.

Might also add to the caution needed about Bennell before anyone gets too excited about his prospects.

Hope both make it back to their best for us, but the chances must be extremely slim.

If correct that may well be the end IMO. He has had continuing problems since day 1 of his senior career. Some people just do not have the body for the game

I suspect he is one of them.

It’s pretty sad for KK. Does anyone who attends training know when and how KK got concussed?  Last I heard he hurt an elbow at training in November and then hasn’t been seen again.

I trust by this you meant he won't be rushed back. The other interpretation would be disastrous.

A better question might be Tomlinson or Baker..

Tomlinson obviously for now, but we should be blooding some experience into Baker this year too. Does he have to add more forward and defensive strings to his bow to get an op on the wing?

Good point JD.  Baker as far as I read has had little mention in training reports.

Surely if he can't get up for any of 2020 then he should retire (or be delisted).

Baker was in the rehab group on Friday. Struggled in the sprints and stood out of the agility drills. Can’t accelerate, can’t change direction? Saw him pointing to his groin muscles in discussion with one of the physio’s. I would venture a touch of osteopubis? Not a good sign on the first day back.

Honestly has he shown anything at senior level? Rarely in the best five at Casey. If it was not for injuries in 2019 I doubt he would have a senior game to his name.

I've always felt that we may well be giving him his superannuation,  on behalf of Gill and his mates.

One hand, washing 'the others'.

You do this for us, and we will do this in turn.

Hmm..let's see, I pick the one whose career wasn't over before he got here.

GC knew KK was finished and didnt offer him a contract, bizzare that we gave him a 3 year contract.

He is now in his third year jnr and so far he has not shown much. Admittedly he has been injured a bit and is again this year. Another year spent mainly on the sidelines will not  serve him well. IMO he is an average talent with injury problems. Those types usually don't have long careers at AFL level.

Unfortunately you'd think the writing is already on the wall for KK. Poor bugger. He is gawn

True, a good run at it this year will be vital. I like his neat side step. He hasn't really used his pace and that may be down to fitness. I think it was last summer he was recovering from a badly torn hammy so we haven't seen what he can really do just yet

The problem is he is injured again and having a poor pre season again which will limit his ability this year.

OD technically 3 years 18,19 and now 20 BUT ONLY ONE here at the Dees with 2020 as a possible seasonal problem.

Fully agree that it's not looking good but is it an injury or a major concussion issue?

Baker has a 2 year contract. (No idea what he did to earn it.)

I think the AFL have, and are on a process, to help the bottom clubs be more competitive and well run.

Helping the competition,  from the bottom side up.

Maybe the bummers will get their poor year in 2020,  and then that AFL legup at completion of this year,  as Worsfolds farewell,  and the new coach takes the joy stick.?

You would have been saying the same theme about Vandenburg,  3Yrs back, OD.?

Some players are worth persisting with.

Pedo another.

Possibly Lever.

Nev Jetta.

Max Gawn.

The difference is all those players had shown they were good at the top level. That cannot yet be said about Baker.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
