TRAINING: Monday 9th December 2019

If we get AvB playing in 202 that is like having a new recruit, I remember when we got Brayshaw back in 2018 it was much the same way, he'd almost become a forgotten figure and when he was actually given a chance to play he really shon through.

I feel like he'll be a challenge for our new fitness staff to handle but boy if we get him right, could make a massive difference!

All I want for Christmas is for Vanders to stay fit*

Anyone know when Tomlinson is expected to resume full training?

*and $1,000,000 please

@Satyriconhome did you get a new phone or something? Your photo quality has improved out of sight!

I was going to ask the same thing

I think he might have just cleaned the lens.

Definitely... he already showed us glimpses of what a fit AVB will be like, in the run up to the finals last year.

The Mo in action again   encouraging him to keep it ???

He should definitely keep it if “British Infantry-circa-Boer War” is the look he’s aiming for.

To be honest i was expecting a better mark than a two grabber where he didn't get far off the ground.

Soaring across the pack is a bit of a stretch!

It was the reading of the ball in flight and quick step that took him from being behind Lever? to i front of the pack and in  a position to be able to take the mark that I was impressed with.

Cannot get that out of my memory. What he offers is remarkably good, so let's all light a candle to his immediate recovery. How frustrated must he feel? In a crowd striding independently around the Northern Stand last season, he looked as impressive as a young Ditterich caught in a world of midgets and I was glad that I did not have to play on him - or his ilk - in my day. AVB, May, Petracca, tough nuts and hungry ... can't wait. I get these chills about having another Rod Grinter (or three) back into the MFC team - ready to wreak carnage with grace, poise, footballing nouse and intent.

The Melk at the front, I think(?)

He looks natural footballer doesn't he.

Exciting talent and the vibe seems to be he has huge upside.

I love also that the consensus seems to be that he is super competitive. He also seems to be a pretty laid back kid, which i think is nice balance and is helpful for some elite sportsmen.

I hate to [censored] on the party

But this drill went for about 10 minutes, prior to the one mark recorded Jackson wasn't getting near it because of the bigger and more experienced bodies

A good learning experience

Who are you and what have you done with the real Saty?

Actually appreciate that bit of balanced reporting.

Perhaps puts the "THAT'S what we [censored] got you here for" comment into context.

Vanders went with the forwards when they broke into 'recognisable' groups

and so I think,  he should, his big body running around our forward line gives opposition defenders very serious doubts as to whether or not they are about to be crunched by a B double truck   or not.  It causes indecision which in turn creates opportunity for our guys !!

Just not a fan of hyperbole

From what I have seen at training, can see why we went with pick 3

But let's wait and see

Sick of this site building up players only to knock them down again

Same with Pickett, Bedford has been developing nicely but without the fanfare

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
