The youngster impressed in his debut season at senior level and showed great potential. His electric pace is an asset at a club regareded as lacking in players with speed in its arsenal.

With the inclusion of Tomlinson and Langdon on the wings where does the Ginger Ninja line up?

Tomlinson to the half fwd flank, Ginger to the Wing. Ginger and Tomlinson share immediate duties on that flank when proximal - and break free when separated.

Will be a player

Im with you, Kent.   A big full preseason for Baker, whos had so many soft tissue issues, will be so important.

Hs almost overlooked in the midfield discussions, but he has pace, is tough and loves a goal and is born for the wing.  Theres a lot to like about Oskar.

Running defender in the Jayden Short vain. We lack run of half back and I can see Baker really thriving as a hard running defender.

Another for whom 2020 will be an important year.

Not sure whether he will make it

DJ - nobody can ever be sure of anything so why state the obvious? ??
But from the little I have seen of him (FWIW) there doesn’t seem much reason to believe he won’t, injuries aside.

He can play, but he needs to get much, much fitter to be a decent AFL player. A bit of upper body strength would be handy as well.

A two year contract gives him time to work on these things at Casey in 2020 and become an AFL regular in 2021.

The posts were all very favourable so just tempering it with reality.

From what I have witnessed over 2 years nothing special and no reason to think he will definitely make it as other posters have predicted.

I may be wrong but ultimately I think he will be just another depth player. Name me the last best 22 player to come out of Casey MFC players.

To be fair the list is really only Fritsch.

BUT considering we are now really driving the standards Baker Lockhart maybe Corey Wagner if he can Bridge the VFL to AFL gap are all only pups in this evolution.

Too many are critical of Casey and yes we need to get rolling with this investment but standard  of play training and professionalism should see numbers increase dramatically in the next 3-5 years.

Fritsch never played as an MFC listed player at Casey so technically there are none as I mentioned. Lockhart the same FWIW.

You could say its drafting but Casey is starting to look like a black hole for MFC draftees.

Definitely something there with Oscar B. Has vision and the abilty to use pace and side step to give himself extra time. They're good qualities to have.

Also seemed to deliver the ball quite well. Seemed quite comfortable on the field and would expect to get beter with more game time.

Turbo Speed. Nice sidestep. Decision making/disposal solid. If he can build his endurance then he will have a good AFL career.

In my mind he has all the attributes, but a bit like Stretch was.    He gets found out at the higher level because he doesn't have the will to get inside or centre side of the contest.   He's always between the contest and the boundary line and unlike casey, at the top level you run out of room.   Maybe if he builds his body up he will get the confidence to change.   James Hird used to call it sheep dogging - circling the pack but going nowhere.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
