Saw our game in Perth in round 9. We put in a good show for over half the game but as you say when WC went up a gear it was all just too hard for us. We more already less gave up the season then and there,  That game summed up our whole shocker of a season.

Might have helped if Goodwin reviewed the preliminary and gave them some direction.

Might have helped if Goody had tried to implement a Power style approach on the day, beautifuly executed only a few weeks before for an unexpected win.

Anyways ....2020 awaits

it's just pathetic and repetitiously boring. how many ways can you say the same things?

Absolutely dc. They turn a thread about a GF where we aren't playing into a MFC whingefest

Such irony. GF’s we aern’t Playing in

GF’s At The MCG, and that doesn’t bother you.

In fact you ridicule those who show disdain for it

It would take a dull brain to not see what it takes to win a flag and not compare where we are to where we need to get to. Each to there own though, ignorance and denial helps some sooth the pain.

you miss the point....not surprising

it's the boring, repetitious, masochistic, humourless, unoriginal drivel i'm sick of

I miss the days when we could just laugh at Richmond

They’ll drop back down some day, it’ll be a spectacle seeing how their supporters act when it happens. Microwave sales will go through the roof.

Dusty put in a stellar last quarter to clinch the medal but the kid gets in the picture.

What a debut and he was very influential.  His disposal skills and decision making seemed to inspire his veteran teammates.

It was as if they didn't want to be shown up.

The Pickett debut is one hell of a story.

people here say "brand" and "culture" doesn't mean anything. tell that to Hardwick. Rebranded this team, new coaching team, brought everyone together.

Who ever said that brand (ie game style) and culture don't mean anything?

Goodwin banged on about brand all last year and I, and many others, bang on about game style all the time.

Such a condescending poster at times, mate.

Brand is a marketing term, and meaningless, culture is another thing all together and we do not have it  Hardwick is a balanced person, Goody not so much.

Problem with AFL over last few years the final has been a blow out. Boring to watch and unfortunately most switched of half way through the third.

Unfortunately this game has no more growth as much as they push the life out of it in non footy states.

If you get cornered by any Tigres supporters, just tell em that was the most boring Grand Final ever.........then tell em again when they start whinging.......

Just tell them that they've only just levelled us for flags. Get back to us when they surpass us. (yes, I know, that could happen next year)

The WAFL is a gold mine for indigenous talent.

Staggering that we haven't drafted a player from WA since Hogan in 2012. Who is our WA scout? Does anyone know?

That said, we haven't had a first rounder pick since 2015 when we landed Oliver (and to a lesser extent, Weideman).

And fair enough too.  If playing in a GF victory is one way of gaining club life membership,  it's been a while between drinks prior to 2017 for the Tigers.

How many players have actually played in a GF victory in the history of the sport over 160+ years?  Maybe 1700 factoring in those who played in multiple flag winning sides.

No sour grapes from me either.  To the victors go the spoils.  And Richmond are the benchmark.

And if they can do it,  we can do it.  I'm a forever optimist with regards to the future.

But you don’t need an early pick, think Ryan, Pickett, Kelly, Stack.....all overlooked in drafts

Good to catch up today, @Return to Glory

With Burgess on board, top 4 next year, mate. You gotta believe!

Enjoy Tokyo. If you can, visit an old haunt of mine, Inokashira Park. A welcome oasis in the concrete jungle.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
