An absolute master stroke by Goody to send him up forward in round 17.

A move none us keyboard heroes would've contemplated in a million years.

That's why they pay him the big bucks.

LOL.

He should'e been there from the start.... perhaps some tanking??

Keyboard heroes seem to have amnesia about why Fritsch played back: as I recall it was because at various times May, Lever, Jetta, Hibberd, Salem, Hore, Big Mac Junior, were injured....

That is true but once TMac and Weidemen went out, with Melksham and Hannan still out, the forward line need Fritsch a lot more than the backline did.  His move forward came at least a month too late.

We had Hibberd, Hore & Frost the majority of the season. As well as Lever for half of the season.

We also had Petty and OMac as other options.

Fritsch should've been played forward, it was by far our worst area on the ground.

Fritsch was recruited as a forward.   Played forward in 2018.

Tried back and didn’t look comfortable from the 1st game.  Finally moved back forward and returned to form.

Goodys “masterstroke” about 7 weeks after Demonlanders screamed for it !!

Whoever had the idea of playing Fritsch down back for first 30 games of his AFL career should be sacked, we all knew Fritsch was a forward and if left there could kick 40-50 goals a season

Surely the Preliminary Final debacle should have convinced Badloss that Fritsch is needed in the forward line, AND that he is not a beckman.   But of course, according to folklore at least, that game wasn't reviewed.

If it was reviewed mono the review achieved zero.

The raison d'etre for all the 'player' puff pieces from the club (and especially their timing) is now becoming apparent

There's no place like home for Fritta. ?

Bayley Fritsch reflects on his own season + getting back to playing as a forward. ?

There are a 'few' other points that the DL brains trust have been attempting to get through to Goodwin and the MFC Board for some time; Fritta - playing as a forward - is just one of hundreds of these insights.

I gotta wonder if the club is trolling it's fans (particularly Demonland). They've released articles of Brayshaw being a better player this year, and Fritsch happy as a forward.

FWIW I didn't have a huge issue with him being played as an intercept defender while we had literally no one else, but there came a time when the swap back needed to happen and it did actually happen for another 2-3 weeks.

Lack of genuine forward options was a big thing for us this year, Fritta could've provided that.

Whilst true he played forward well last season, then got switched back, then got dropped for the final against west coast.

Like Hunt this year was playing well forward. He seems to be the only player on our list that can run towards goal, turn on a dime and lead back to the player with the footy, mark it and allow us to “connect”. A natural forward. Then he gets moved to the backline, then dropped.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
