Worst caller by a mile. Hard to even fathom that considering they employ Cameron Ling

Ling is dreadful but Basil matches him with Du-whane Russell not far behind. Three complete hacks.

Did a commentator just say referring to GWS, "a home team with a healthy home crowd"?

I'd hate to see an unhealthy home crowd.

This is a final and there are two empty unopened stands and a smattering of empty seats around the ground.

As of yesterday I believe there were still 8,000 available tickets in a 20,000 capacity ‘stadium’

Lucky for the pre finals bye week, would hate to think how bad these matches would have been otherwise.

19,218 official attendance in a stadium that hold 24k yet so many empty seats..........mmmmmmmmmmm

Rubbish Figure. Total fabrication

3 dud blow-outs to start the finals, capped off with a half-empty stadium.

How good is this year's finals series?

I wonder what fraction were Dog supporters.  Looked high to me.

Woeful down field decision

Off twitter @Stevo7AFL

“Canned” Giants chants coming through speakers in outer. Something new ...

A new low for Channel 7. Jobs for convicted drug cheats, plus nepotism as the icing on the cake.

Maybe they can hire Lance Armstrong to commentate their cycling coverage?

Bolton handy outside!!??

Grimes should be suspended for that blatant staging. Disgusting, cost Brisbane a direct shot on goal as well.

Apologies is ive missed this elsewhere

Why  isnt this a Lions home final ?

Oh, everyone will be relieved to know that genius umpire Nicholls was the one who gifted Richmond their BS first goal thanks to that insane HTB against Rich (where he had all of 0.2 seconds to dispose of the ball before being tackled).

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.
