I think he’s gone from Pies judging by the cover of the UNO cards. I see numbers 2,3 and 4. No number 5, wild card is tricky to decipher though.

hmmmm. But there is black and white on the wild card surrounding the red and blue and All-Australian colours.

Better consult my magic 8 Ball.

Hey @faultydet lives there..... should get him to head down to the lagoon and get in his ear.

He could say he’s from Brisbane and goes for the Lions and has been following him since he toured Brisbane’s facilities. And then tell him he’s staying in the room next door, “just knock if you need anything, see you at dinner I’ve reserved the table next to you”.

Not sure if I'd want Faulty doing our business for us.

I like your way of thinking. Do Ansett still fly to Queensland? Maybe I can use my points.

Brisbane train at Coorparoo which is about 5 mins from the Gabba but there was talk that they would have a new base in Springfield which is about 45min from the Gabba depending on traffic.

So facilities may not be as different as we think.

I’m sure a couple of years ago when all the players wanted to leave, they couldn’t attract free agents one of the major issues was the behind the times training and recovery facilities. Amazing how things turn around in a few years...

Nah, I'd present like one of you happy clapper AMWAY salesmen. Surely we'd be in the box seat then.

And if he didn't come our way, I'd revert to type and roll out the goon bottles and my sister-in-law.

Airlie Beach is a great place to live, but boy oh boy, that lagoon is a backpacker [censored] repository.

Would NEVER swim in it while I have a nice pool in my own back yard.

So since Thursday I have read the following on Elliot:
Thursday - coming to Dees
Friday - Mark Stevens says he is signing at the Pies and will be announced at their b&f
Saturday - multiple people saying he has signed at Brisbane
Sunday - staying at pies on 1.5m for 3 years.
Does anyone really know or does everyone make stuff up?

I was given pretty reliable word early on he would stay with the Pies, but obviously I'm doubting that now after seeing him tour Brisbane.

People change their minds, or take a while to decide, just human nature.

I reckon he’s put a line through us. It was Brisbane until Collingwood upped their offer to three years. He’ll re-sign with Collingwood on a three year deal, bookmark it.

No confirmation that Collingwood have upped their offer to three years.

Gut feel is he’ll stay at Collingwood because they have or they will up their offer to three years. I agree with DL that we were a pawn used by Elliott and his management to get an extra year out of Collingwood. It failed.

Now the same tactic is being applied using Brisbane with his management upping the ante, this time cameras were on stand-by filming Elliott’s arrival and entering of Brisbane’s facilities.

Elliott is a fan favourite, Eddie won’t let him leave.

I guess we will find out soon enough,

All just guess work until we hear from him.

What I will say is that we have been working on him for a while now, since last season, and Brisbane have only just come into the picture .

If he decides to leave Collingwood I still think we are a big chance.

In answer to a post where it was asked why it couldn’t happen, I posted the above as my first post, of many, though latterly just having a bit of fun.

Deep down this has always been my belief in relation to Elliott, who is one of the Pies’ fans favourite players.

Happy to be proved wrong, but I feel they, the Elliott team, have used us and the Lions to get a better deal from the Pies.

We will soon know. "

Agree. Pies still favourites to retain him.  Lions would be probably ahead of Dees if he was leaving.  Mahoney didn’t seem too excited other than to say we have a 3 year offer. Maybe it’s just Elliotts management angles to push up the Pies to offer him 3 years.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe
