He's been on mine since it looked like they had the knives out for him with the Saints.

Would be a great get with Burgess...

I rate Richo as better than Goody... considerably. Maybe as a duo we might start plsying footy...real footy....not current  rubbish.

Some coaches just don't make great senior coaches for some reason, Alan Richardson is a great bloke, great football person and would be a tremendous asset to the MFC. i suspect though Macca leaving won't be the only change. i'm thinking it'll be a pretty significant shake up with several coaches and staff members moving on.

it also shouldn't be lost that Macca has made a very positive contribution to the club in his development role, and no doubt the early career form of Petracca, Brayshaw and Oliver to name a few can in part be credited to his coaching.

Official. Rook is gone too I've heard on the rumour mill. Richardson to replace Macca IMO.

Surely the only assistant who is safe is Rawlings, who has a proven track record. The rest need and I believe will go.

I hope we get Richardson.

McCartney did great work at the club. I just think his old school way of thinking is not in line with Goodwin.

Wouldn't be surprised if Rawlings leaves or is poached, seems to be highly rated in AFL circles and wouldn't blame him if he's annoyed at being moved around when he wanted to run his own team. Hope he stays of course.

From watching trainings Macca was an important voice who stressed the fundamentals and had a good relationship with players where he'd boost them up or give them a rev depending on what was needed.

I think the shame here is instead of sticking with a well defined role we moved him around and probably ended up having him in the way.

Whoever we bring in we need to make sure the roles are clearly defined, that everyone is on board with the game plan and that training is well rounded.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Rawlings move on for his own development.

You can only stay at a club so long, and it then appears you are treading water in the AFL industry and you become a forgotten man.

That is if he still wants a senior job down the track.

I don’t disagree. I just mean we won’t push him out. He may choose to leave tho.

Old school doesn't work now days. Just ask Malthouse when he coached carlton.

Gone are the days of old hard knock coaches.

A few people here unfamiliar with the concepts of either:

A) Contracts
And/or
B) The footy department salary cap

Not all of Rawlings, Chaplin, Mathews, Plapp etc will be going.

Nor should they be. This is still the coaching group that had us playing some very good footy last year.

Have heard rumours of Jennings wanting out/ being moved on and Bolten being on the radar, not sure if anyone has heard this?

Rubbish comment. Read the article. All on good terms and after 5 years, have enough respect to at least not make stuff up.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
