I find it frustrating that as a side we used to have so many exciting indigenous and irish players.

Farmer, Jurrah, Davey, Woenamirri, Stynes, Wight etc.

We don't seem to pick any players like that anymore.... our side lacks imagination and x factor.

Look at the Eagles yesterday! Riolo, Ryan, Cameron, Jetta....

Demonland: What kind of idiot does Taylor have to be to pick such a small player like Spargo in the second round

Also Demonland: Hey Taylor we should pick this player even smaller than Spargo in the second round

But in all seriousness, looks good, a punt on a kid with pure talent up forward is what we need

Taylor also drafted an inside contested mid (Sparrow) with our second rounder last year. The same year we traded away Tyson because we had too many inside contested mids...

Think Weightman is a better prospect if he’s available. 177cm, has pace, has good leap and mark for a small, can crumb well, kicked bags of 4 goals back to back matches in the championships too. He’s a specialist small forward. He’s projected to go around pick 20, so is the perfect target for our second round pick IMO.

We dont have a good record with midgets.

Think long and hard.

Did you know that he might be the only player that doesn't need to bend over and pick up the ball ?

Remember the name kysaiah Picket.

Sparrow isn't an "inside mid", and if you think he's similar to Tyson then you've either not seen Sparrow, Tyson or both.

“A medium forward/midfielder who is a super competitive with his ability to win the contested ball”

Sounds like an inside mid to me but we can agree to disagree.

Just as I thought, straight to google hey mate?

He's a bit like a Dangerfield type (not saying he'll be that good obviously) with a burst of speed from the pack, ability to chase down opponents and is a handy player around goals.

But sure, that's exactly the same as Tyson....

Yep, you never gone to google for evidence before?

Where has he been described as Patrick Dangerfield before? That said Patrick plays as an inside mid, a role that we just pushed another player out of the team for having too many of that type.

Not sure drafting a poor mans Patrick Dangerfield changes the role/position that Tyson got pushed out for.

Whether he plays it the same way or not, it doesn’t change how many players can go in for center bounces.

Ok, so now we're comparing Dangerfield and Tyson are we? I'm out. Have a good one.

Seems to complicated for you to get. Based on your logic we should just go recruit 10 players to play the same position/role, as long as they play it different to each other.

a small forward that can kick goals, a novel idea we should try that

Glad your on board?

Now can you just email the club and let them know?

'Complicated' says the bloke that seemingly doesn't understand how list demographics and development work, or that all players who play some imaginary permanent role that defines their abilities aren't exactly the same. Come on mate, look deeper than the first page you find on google.

Nice evidence based argument as usual from you. Strong and supported justification right here. I now agree with you, let’s go get an inside mid who plays like a poor mans Fyfe, and a while we are at it let’s get a poor mans Cripps and a poor mans Mitchell. Let’s not worry about the gaping holes on the outside or find players who can kick.

Sorry, back to Kysiahah Pickett. Get this kid on the list. In the second clip I posted you can see he can tackle to.

If he puts on 5 or 6kgs and grew 1cm he'd be exactly the same size as AMT.

Just like his uncle Byron? Oh wait...

In fairness there is quite a lot of difference in their build!

Exactly Oli.

He knows how to rove a pack and be at the fall of the ball. That automatically puts him ahead of Spargo playing as that crumbing forward.

Certainly looks to have that burst of speed that is essential for a midget

That comment was in reference to go home factor. His uncle left North Melbourne, to go home to the Dees!

He returned to Port Adelaide from North Melb, before we topped up his super for 29 games.

You are making [censored] up to suit your dominating narrative. Give it a rest and let others have a say

and this is what happens when he doesn't use google

I can't weigh in too much given I have paid zero attention to potential draftees, but what I will say is we have some issues that need to be addressed at the draft table. One of those is speed and a goal sense.

If this kid is the best available to meet those needs then that's good enough for me.

I will do some reading on prospects....seems I've been a tad lazy this season.

Jokes old now mate. Move on

While there is very little information provided from a single game, from what he showed there I'd say no to this kid.  He positioned himself well and has good hands, but to me his pace looks average and his size is a huge disadvantage.  I'm a fan of drafting footballers before athletes, but there are limits.

Which part was made up? The part about him leaving north or the part about him going to the dees? Point was that he ended up in Melbourne which was in response to you saying let’s not pick Pickett because of go home factor. When his uncle left SA to come to Melbourne. The PA part is irrelevant here or if anything backs up my case further if you want to include it.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
