Of these players, generally agreed. OMac played rather well this week, interrupting many opposition marks and passing well by foot. Frosty was - overall - impressive. Baker is getting there.

Nonchalant when missing.Our players never seem to demonstrate any  annoyance with players who miss simple shots and our leaders never have a word to the person who missed to maybe steady in future. I know it is a fine line to tread and you need to get on with the game but i would be really dirty if I played and my teammates missed like that. Think fast bowler when a fieldsman drops an easy catch.

I was really proud of the boys last night.  Gee did they have a red hot go!  Playing the current Premiers on their own patch with 5 players with 22 games experience going into last night (Smith, Hore, Lockhart, Petty and Baker) and another group who give their all but are probably short of ALF standard (Stretch, ANB, Garlett and Wagner) we did not disgrace the jumper and I'll look any other club supporter in the eye today will pride.

And with a bit of luck we'd have won.  Petty on the line, Frost with a cruel fumble, Shuey with a freak goal, Ryan with a sensational mark and some weird umpiring decisions all went against us.  Yes, our goal kicking was terrible and it wasn't just Petracca.  Garlett, McDonald, Baker, Brayshaw, Stretch and others missed easy goals.  But guess what, we created the chances and won everywhere but on the scoreboard. 

I like Joeboys three worder's but this one doesn't give credit where credit is due.  Just look at OMac - "not our worst".  No Joeboy, it should have been something like "played really well".  And he's just an example of the poor evaluation of many of the player's performances by so many today.  A bit sad really many don't have the balance to what a game performance that was.

Agree Oscar was good and will get better with May and lever for competition. Baker looks like he could be a better than average player with a few years in the system. I did not notice petty as much as others but did not see any clangers either. The loss was down to our forwards not valuing a goal enough.  Give me the attitude of my underage teammates who never missed the opportunity put it though the big sticks from 20 out.

Agree with you wholeheartedly. Somehow some posters find a whipping boy and nothing they do is given credit. I, too thought Oscar Mc D's game was good last night because he did a job he was selected to do. But no, we cannot give the kid any praise bwecause it seems as if "you" think it proves you wrong. We are t6oo quick to criticise and not quick enough to praise.  If Petracca had kicked more accurately  we would be singing praises today, because he has something special in his capacity to win 1 on 1 .

Let us reward the kids who played their hearts out last night. When you think we had about 6 players with less than 10 games experience AND none of them were high draft picks, the effort level was great. GIve praise to the efforts of Marty Hore and Jade Lockart for persevering to get to this level and showing us that they CAN play.

Yes, we can rail about the goalkicking ,umpiring etc. But that is part of he game and hopefully the rub of the green will come to us soon.

I want Angus in the engine room, not out on the wing. It's where he played his best football toward the end of last year.

Agree on the goal kicking, but I thought that was the best we have moved the ball all year. Our handball chains were coming off, even under the pressure of a very good team on their home deck. Compare that to the Richmond game, where the endeavour was there, but we couldn't string 2 handballs together without spilling it.

Agree with the handballing in the first half most our goals resulted in a some really good handball chains.  Second half we started handballing to stationery targets and panic handballs.

I was also proud of our boys in their moral win ( won everywhere but the scoreboard) with a severely depleted side, in Perth against a stronger premier than the GF (Barrass out and Gaff and Shepperd in ) after 2 consecutive interstate trips and a short break. Unbelievable really. Was nearly the 2 nd miracle result of the weekend.

I was angry at Trac, Jeffy and Tom for their inaccuracy, but then sad for Trac, as you can see in his face he is panic stricken when shooting for goal. It is not the yips, it is a mental doubt in his ability to convert and I hope he is seeing someone, be it professionally, or a past player to get over this. There is fear in his eyes and I feel sorry for him, he is over trying. 

Back to the match, Robbo said if we won it could be the best win if any club in the last 20 years. That is a big statement and guess what, we kick straight  and had better umpiring and it may have happened.

100% agree mr leg. The further I get from the gut wrenching disappointment of losing a critical game we should have won,  the more I reflect on what an insanely good effort that was. And you can add to that list of difficulties that we were 3 rotations down for much of the last.

Also agree about trac. You can see it written in his face. Personally I think he’s developing into a real weapon....but man, that kicking. Hopefully as u said he’s getting help. Failing that perhaps we play him further up the ground?  I first started barracking in 71 when a young Greg Parke was really dominant in the air up fwd. He just took so many marks in the 20-30 metre range,  and I remember  down heartedly and busily notching many strokes in the behind column ....and wondering what could have been. He had that v same look that I see on tracks face.... like he knew he was going to miss b4 he kicked it. Parke ended up at the doggies, who played him at CHF instead of FF and he was way more effective there fr the team.

For the record I didn’t use the words ‘not our worst’ to describe O.Mac’s game.. please get your facts right

I'm only catching up on Demonland today...

Can I ask from anyone that might be closer to the club, why are we playing Brayshaw on a wing?  Last year, after what I think were injuries to others, and his own return to football, Gus came back in to immediate effect in the middle, probably underrated even amongst ourselves, and finished up 3rd in the Brownlow - probably deservedly when you go back and reflect on the work he did in there.

Come 2019 hes relegated back to the wing, where we always end up whinging about his performances, and where it feels to me like we're wasting one of our biggest talents.  Didn't we look our best and play our best last year with Gawn/Oliver/Brayshaw/Harmes(tagging) in the middle?
