Harmes injury being blown out of proportion I think. He broke his hand last year and played the same week. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if he still played round 1

Anyone ever fumbled more than ANB?

I just get the impression ANB is a bit of a panicker.

Hunt has been disappointing in the second half. Should have kept him forward.

Agreed, he'd offer us something we seriously lack in the forward line and that's speed. He' 187cm and got 15 on Spargo, but could he be the quick and agile crumber we are crying out for? Worth a try i'd have thought.

4 sausage rolls to Smith..

Joel Smith on one leg is better than Joel Smith on two legs? ?

I sense he's over-trying...  trying to force himself to the next level.  This will make himself fumble,  trying to be too slick.    Let it happen lad,  don't force it.

Has anyone ever deserved a punch more than Mitch Robinson?

Would like to see the contested making stats inside 50. It feels like they have slaughtered us in that regard.

Umpires need another month to get some competence.

Perhaps we had to shift him into other rolls when both JKH and Harmes went down injured?  Or maybe Goody is just trying a few different things while there are no points up for grabs?  Either way, I think he showed enough down forward to suggest he can be handy down there if need be.

Joel Smith has been excellent today as well.  Surely it puts him in contention for Round 1?

Softest free ever. Shithouse.

That pass was barely 10 let alone 15, lol.

But how about a bit of awareness Max and Christian.

Look last year thought he was a solid contributor but have seen instances of it over the past couple of years.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
