Re: Round 1 clash versus the Demons.

Well let’s hope it’s 2013 again I guess

2019, just like 2018.

Tough game first up

Last time we played Melbourne in round 1 at the mcg is still one of the best days at the footy I have been too. The uncertainty of how we would go and the hype of the Melbourne supporters brutally rebuffed by a new free scoring port, the debut of Ollie wines and a jay Schulz mark of the year contender. Happy times. Hope for a repeat.

Pencil that one in as a near certain loss.

The only strength we have now is our inside 'bulls' as KT called them, and theyve been hammered inside by the maturing young group that Melbourne have for a while now. Theyve been too quick, reflexes too fast, and simply too hard for us. We got super lucky last time at home against them and we've only gotten worse since then, while theyve got a shitload of organic growth left in them.

In a year where we will really struggle to make the top 12 let alone 8, its a terrible start.

Nothing like starting the season with a 10 goal loss emoji28.png

Always good to get games at the G

Dees by 79 points.

So we going to Crows vs Hawthorn to boo Chad :tongueclosed::tongueclosed::tongueclosed:

Thread title needs to be changed to Swimming & [censored] Cup lol

----- I reckon old mate will be in the SANFL lol

Lol who ******* cares. I'm still not even close to remotely wanting any sort of football.

We will get smashed

Bring back 2013.

It'll be 237 days since our last win. We could be due.

Surprised they could string so many coherent sentences together.

Swimming Carnival of Hate

Perhaps we' ll agree to shift the game to "  The Barton " oval. Closer to home for them ......no , stuff 'em.

Lets destroy them at the G

Dropped over to the Port forum in the last few rounds of 2016... they seem to be quite realistic in the main.

Should be a win for MFC but nothing is certain with the MFC as we well know.

Only 5 months to wait

Assuming he can contain the other distractions in his life ?

My Port supporting mate Dave has heard JW will be caddying for Tiger Woods next year.

I'm really worried we will be torn a new one by Chad Wingard....

He has to replace Cyril and Burgoyne - he's not that good

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
