We've allegedly asked for permission to trade our 2019 first round pick. Means we must have something big lined up (could still be Gaff).

Agreed. If they are that keen on him just pay him overs on a shorter term deal via free agencyย and ask him to take a cut on the next contract. We'll have a truck load of cash if hogan leaves.

Not Melbourne related but with McGovern nominating Carlton as the preferred destination how on earth are they even entertaining the idea of getting Sheil? Surely they will be tapped out of picks with McGovern to satisfy anything that GWS want. Also why are players even thinking of going to that rabble???

People were saying that same thing about us a few years ago.ย

They can get McGovern with a trade of one of their mature age selections, Shane McAdam, remember the name, barring that they can work up from theirย 2nd round pick. Crows are not unhappy to let him go. His value is more pick 15-20 than anything near a top 10.

Shiel for Carlton's future first round pick is a pretty good deal to me. Puts the pressure on Carlton to win games so it's not a top 3 pick.

But the combination of Shiel, McGovern, a healthy Sam Docherty, at least mature player pick up and a ready to play number 1 pick is a substantial improvement.

Carlton aren't nearly as devoid of talent as their 2018 made out to be. Curnow, McKay and Pickett forward. Cripps, Murphy, Kennedy, Dow, Fisher, SPS, O'Brien in the midfield. Marchbank, Docherty, Wietering, Plowman down back.

If I'm Shiel and they're offering me 1.2 mil a year I wouldn't be completely scared of going there. Might not win a heap in 2019 but I can get handballs from Cripps all game. 30 of the easiest touches you'll ever get.

Where did you hear that?ย  If true, something big is cooking.

And hopefully it has the initials JK.

Declan Keilty has been offered. And accepted. A 3rd year on the rookie list.

ย Indeed it is ck. He always rocked a great tan in his playing days.

would be happy to give up a future first round pick for him. 15-20 is fair value for him. A good player who has battled concussion (weโ€™re as good a club as any to help him combat it).

would be a massive upgrade on Smith playing on the HB line.

Gold Coast donโ€™t even want him so they canโ€™t expect much

Especially as he's out of contract and the club has suggested he look elsewhere.ย

Gotta give quality to get quality Moon and make no mistake, Kolodjashnij is quality. I figure our second rounder this year or next wonโ€™t be enough.

Tim Smith has also been offered and accepted a 3rd year on the rookie list.ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
