Why do we give any credibility to the opinions of this pumped up little rat ????

Agree. Just another ex player trying to still be relevant.

I think there is a legitimate question about the direction footy is going about how successful teams with multiple key targets will be. I don’t think losing hogan would be the end of the world. We’d get a lot in return. But I also don’t think we will lose him.

worth a discussion if you think we can cover his goal scoring ability with Weideman and improved mid field kicking.

So what do we get in his place. Two first round picks ... I like the idea but we all know it's a lottery. We also save a lot of money that allows us to go after Gaff.

Assuming you go for a trade or an ontrade of the two picks who do you trade for.

I'm neutral but I would be disappointed if the list committee wasn't doing the SWOT analysis.

You have to look at where we have trade currency and Hogan is where it's at.

Geez calm down Overexaduration do we have another Key Forward waiting i don't think so right now Weidemann is not up to it. I personally think he is carrying something but once on the field your expected to perform. I don't know why they didn't rest him last week to be honest. I would moving on JKH. Why they continue to play JKH i have no idea he is not up to hit. If they would have played Kent instead as bad as we played we may have got over the line.

I'd take 3 first rnd

so would I but no one is going to offer it unless you want to take it over three years.

BTW I would want two first rounders in the first 8 before I would think about it.

People on demonland reveal their lack of knowledge about football quite often.

They are done through:

trade hogan

trade petracca

play pederson

to name a few

To quote Darth Vader "I find your lack of faith disturbing".

To trade him now is a mistake.  His too-often misses of set shots really makes my blood boil, but not enough to trade him.

Petracca on the other hand... I might be warming to this idea.

why.... we need to talk about how we win a premiership so all things should be able to be discussed.

I agree on discussing what would be helpful, I just don't like the hysterical premise.

The season's not over, we need positive solutions now, not next year.

Maybe play Hogan strictly at half forward and in the middle next week?

Said this a while ago. We have glaring holes, need class, but no one wants to give anything up for quality. We need to be creative. I’d offer Hogan, Kent, Hunt, Garlett for something decent (2-3 players or picks.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
