I think Hogan could play as a midfielder like Cripps and make an impact for the team so yes we could then play all 3 Weeds TMac and Hoges in the same team.

I wouldn't be taking one of our biggest strengths (a 40+ goal CHF beast) and playing him in the middle unless we were trying to get him into the game. And even then, once he gets a few touches I'd be telling him to go forward.

Keen to see some best 22s and the associated forward lines with Hogan, Weid and TMac all in that forward line.

With Frost’s pace, athleticism and all round general improvement could he not play on mid size forwards as well as talls? I think your first back 6 is not only great defensively but also would generate a lot of drive from the back half. Frost was massive against the Giants.

With regards to the forwards I think three is too many. TMac must be the deepest fwd.

Given TMac started on the wing for a number of games, there's every chance either him of Hogan would start there then go forward or even back as the need presents. Unless they introduce the 6-6-6 format then putting positions on paper is really useless. For mine Weid stays as the deepest forward (and goes into the ruck), then Hoges and TMac swap between around the half forward (around 35 - 60 meters from goal) and roaming anywhere in-between the 2 50 meter lines, pushing hard forward when they get the mismatch.

The team breaks up into the forwards, mids and backs at the game breaks - these categories do exist even if "forward pocket" no longer exists.  It is meaningful to group the players into each area and see what type of team balance you get and who misses out.

Wonderful problem to have when we finally have more than 22 good players to fit into the side.

You cant just say throw the cheque book at it as regards Hogan

Yes but their not limited to a set number of each and clearly we've been after players who are flexible enough to go into other roles throughout the game. Saying how does our forward set up look would mean ignoring TMac starting on the wing or Hogan going into the center square occasionally, it evolves during the game and is a great tactic if done right.

If they do that they push someone else out of the midfield rotation - that's why the 22 in the 3 sets IS relevant.

I would swap Salem and Fritsch positions.

I would swap AVB for ANB and think next year at some stage Lewis will go and Hunt could come in.
