I would think that if you are in Priority 1, you get drawn out of the ballot before priority 2/3 and therefore are more likely to get allocated better seats?

I mean look I don't care where I sit, but surely if you've forked out money for a priority 1 membership, you won't end up in crappier seats than someone who got picked from priority 2 group?

I don't think you would.

I'd assume that the Priority 1 memberships would get allocated first (Before Priority 2) as they are guaranteed a seat. If as a P1 you selected Category 1 (highest priced tickets) you would get allocated one of those if available. If none are left by the time you get randomly selected then you will be given Category 2 and so on. If you selected C1 and got given a C3 you obviously only have to pay C3. I would assume that you are less likely to get a C1 if you are trying to secure 8 tickets together IF you are selected later in the random ballot.

This is all conjecture of course.

Whilst I’d traditionally agree with this Poita, I’m a MCC/MFC dual member and the ‘membership’ is nothing more than a donation. Get no access to any games or anything other than a scarf. Given we’ve never played finals, I’d never encountered or thought about the fact it wouldn’t give us access to grand final ballot but given I’m only a restricted member I’m now stuck because I can’t get into MCC nor can I get a ticket through MFC. I’m a 10 year member who has sat through Gold Coast spanking us at the G, Geelong spanking us in the 150th year game and all the spankings between them. Worlds smallest violin and all that jazz but it’s hit me in the last few days that if we win, I’m next to no chance to go. At 28, it’s a somber thought that the I was 10 at the 2000 and couldn’t take it in and I’m sure all the rich & elite that have jumped on the bandwagon will get tickets before me through corporates or mates in the coming days after we get it done over the Eagles ;) but probably a good life reminder that sometimes life sucks.

Im rambling now but just remember not everyone who is asking for a favour isn’t a member or hasn’t been on the same emotional journey as you for as long as they can remember!

go Dees

Check your email. You should have received an email with your membership barcode and the time you need to register which depends on your membership type.

From the Email: It is important to note that it does not matter what time you register within your allocated registration time, as this will have no bearing on either the category of tickets you are allocated or the likelihood of success in the ballot process. There is no need to be concerned if you are placed in a queue

Instructions on the registration process are here: https://s.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL%20Tenant/Melbourne/PDF/Grand%20Final%20Ballot%20Guide.pdf

If there is anyone with a priority one barcode and can’t get to GF I’d absolutely be over the moon. Today you should have received an email from the club identifying your priority level with instructions for GF ballot please pm me if you're willing.

It would have to be this way Jaded, I reckon.

BTW - I didn't hear any 2 pack a day truck driver cheering near me on Friday night! (Although it was pretty noisy).

Cheers DL.  I have an email about a barcode for the WC game but nothing for the GF...

i only got mine 15 mins ago.....so wait a little longer

I literally just got an SMS to check my email.

Thanks PJ!

I'm priority 3 and have 2 kids who are priority 2. I know we're probably no chance in the ballot but if I was to register just the kids names as priority 2s would I then be able to get into the ground using one of their tickets (note my daughter is 8 and not really into the footy)?

As long as you know your membership barcode (on the reverse of your membership card) then the link above has all the relevant information you need.

Wednesday is the allocated day and your allocated time depends on your type of membership.

That's a tricky and risky one. I've never seen them check the tickets at the footy in regards to adult and junior/concession and the entry barcode machines at the G don't appear to have any indication on the other side as to whether the barcode scanned is a child or adult. At Etihad there are screens above that say child or adult.

Having said that I don't know if this will be different at the Grand Final or if they will check it at the entry to the bay. Depends on the sharpness of the attendant.

I'd be nervous about risking it but it's your call. Demonland accepts no responsibility.

Sorry if I offend some people but i'm sick to bloody death of people asking for barcodes.

Reason being, 90% of the people who are asking are NOT members and only want to jump on the dees train when we are winning.

I have purchased a membership every year (minus 2009 due to health issues) since 2000 (I was 16). Why am I going to give up my barcode even if I can't make it to Perth to somebody who can't be arsed buying a membership and supporting the club thick and thin?

What's the likely cost for GF tickets anyway? Cat 1, 2 etc..

I think there's varying circumstances that we shouldn't be too judgemental on.

We're all supporters and hopefully now that we're back up and about these other supporters will buy a membership.

It's in the PDF file Steve (prices below Full/Concession)

CATEGORY 1 $410 $349

CATEGORY 2 $400 $340

CATEGORY 3 $370 $315

CATEGORY 4 $340 $289

CATEGORY 5 $300 $255

CATEGORY 6 $250 $213

CATEGORY 7 $180 $153

R'VIEW/STAND $150 $128

Can someone advise me on the below;

My family has been given 4 bar codes. Can I use the priority 2 bar codes which I have two of and input the other bar codes which are priority 3 in the same registration so that we get all four tickets?

Also if the priority 2 is my kids ticket (under 16) will we be able to use the tickets as two of us are adults?

Hope that makes sense.

I have tried to call Ticketek and the MFC Membership line but got no where after being on hold for over an hour.

Thanks.

It was pretty noisy and my voice was totally gone by quarter time. I wasted it all telling Nicholls what a total dick he is.

So apparently only 10,000 MFC members have priority 1 memberships (myself included!), and the club will get 20,000 tickets allocated, so priority 2 members have a decent chance of getting a seat.

I would tell everyone to get an upgraded membership next year, but honestly, I don't want to be fighting it out with more people for a good GF ticket... so stay as you are ;)

They include the standing room which could total up to say 10k across both clubs which means only around 5k seats available to priority 2.

What a pity GWS couldn't make it.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
